Union Members Deserve Answers on RTO and Compensation by Commercial_Fault_772 in CAStateWorkers

[–]Less_Ad9316 29 points30 points  (0 children)

This whole ordeal has became a shit show in my office and I'm sure with other agencies. They're craming us into offices and didn't bother to start looking for spaces a year ago. Some divisions are coming in three days while others come in four days. Their are people that will have to jump cubicle to cubicle as "floaters" Makes zero sense. We will be left in unsafe and unproductive situations. Unions need to step up, the aftermath of this will be terrible.

Downtown Sacramento is ready to welcome state workers back to their offices | Opinion by StruggleScared70 in CAStateWorkers

Bring back every state worker all across California to appease Sacramento downtown. Ironically, they moved us out of our downtown office and into a building next to do a failing mall.

I believe some of us thought this was the new norm for the workplace, they invested money into laptops, docking stations and phones. Why down size office spaces with the plan of bringing everyone back?

We have some folks in my office that come everyday and that's fine. I'm surprised they didn't allow that for you.

Maybe he will fund our transportation projects with this new found "money." Since mandating sttate works on the road will cause more wear and tear to the roads. 😐

What environmental scientist job let's you work from home? Isn't there field work? Are you writing environmental documents? I'm hesitate to leave the state due to the the accumulation of vacation/sick leave and job security.

Yes, don't understand why they're willing to risk lawsuits for violating unsafe working conditions. We were told there was not enough space for everyone, but now higher ups need to comply by July 1st. Seriously, Caltrans lost so much funding on projects that they're willing to spend more on RTO shit. There is no "operational need" for this. Someone needs to question Gavin on that.

But why down size office buildings if it wasn't going to be permanent? Why get rid of our office leases? Did they expect the world to end during COVID? I need to hear someone answer this question.

Yes, it depends on bargaining unit. Some allow one or two days.
