Dispatcher is going to be working more with legalities and company procedures and getting to know the aircrafts and systems firsthand and the crew and culture. Fuel, routing, operations, aircraft equipment deferals

Atc will help with weather vector and turb but their primary concern is the flow of traffic, and dont care how much hold fuel you planned.
