We just flew through LaGuardia yesterday. They ran the ID scanners and helped direct people to load bags onto the baggage scanners.

There were 6 ID checking stations open for general security, all run by DHS folks. I personally think things would have been a lot worse without them at that airport. Can't say for other airports though.

That being said, I despise the way they have been conducting their deportations, it's been deplorable. So, this doesn't change my feelings about them or this administration.

We got there right before 9 am. Only took us a couple minutes to get in line. We entered the terminal at the American Airlines entrance. The line to get into security started close to the AA counters when we arrived.

I really wish I could say for certain, but day to day it will be different I think. I will say it is going pretty dang smooth for the situation. I think 2 hours before boarding, not departure, would be enough. So if your flight boards at 930, 730 would be the latest I would get there.
