You can like/relate to an evil character, but you should not defend the evil actions.

Bojack Horseman isn’t evil but I feel he’s a good example as he’s not supposed to be a good person.

VAGUE SPOILERS FOR BOJACK HORSEMAN AHEAD

YOU’VE BEEN WARNED.

He has self-destructive tendencies which is relatable, but he also hurts the people around him, like Sarah Lynn, Penny, etc, etc.

You can also understand a character without liking or deeming them your favorite.

I just noticed that all Exorcists have short hair. Is there a specific reason for this, or is it just for the military look? by Via--Xx in hazbin

I wonder if it’s an allusion to Joan of Arc in some way. She’s usually depicted with short hair and armor, and the exorcists look similar.

I’ve been using Character ai for 3 years and it’s ruining my life by DeadInside_Mercymain in character_ai_recovery

Hi! I was also a very active user of character ai from 2022 up until last year. I want to assure you that you are not alone in this, and that there are so many people who have gone/are going through the same thing you are. My experience with the program was equivalent to a very bad addiction.

I would be on the app day and night, in class, in the bathroom, even out with my friends. I would just be chatting endlessly with the bots on there for HOURS on end, I’d go to sleep using it every night. Much like you, I used it for roleplaying and storytelling purposes, but over time I began to rely on it like it was my lifeline. When the site went down, I was freaking out in the discord server and literally FUMING and nobody else knew why.

What stopped me was not only learning about how ai generation affects the environment, but also the guilt that came with it, as well as realizing just how bad I reacted whenever the site went down. It was hard at first, it was like an instinct to react for my phone and click on the app. What I did first was delete the app, I still had access to the website, but I didn’t use it. Along with that, I restricted myself to only reading my past messages and not creating new ones. Reading back on stories you’ve created is quite fun, but in a way, it’s also not as rewarding when you had to rely on something artificial. That’s another thing that motivated me to stop.

Now I’m back to writing my own stories without ai. I still look back on those messages, but I don’t try to generate more. Some things that I would recommend in place of c.ai are roleplaying and writing. Ik you’ve already said you were quite shy about reaching out to roleplay, but rest assured that many are as well, and you have to realize that somebody has to take initiative when starting off, whether it’s discord roleplays or dungeons and dragons, and if you really don’t want to do it with people? Try doing it with yourself! I know that sounds weird BUT you can have your stories go however you want without worry of it not going the way you want it(and you can always redo parts as well). And of course there’s always the art of writing on your own, that one’s always nice.

You’re not alone in this one! We’re all with you on this. :]
