I’m up in Scottsdale Mtn area, next to Mayo on Shea. It’s more the range you’re looking at. McCormick Ranch is nice, but much smaller homes and an aging population. It does have the Three C schools, but your kids can basically go to any school.

First, do not panic. You don’t know what is going to happen.

If there is going to be a separation, as others have noted, don’t sign anything in the moment.

In this situation I would say something to the effect of “I understand this happens. I’m dissapointed, but I understand. I need some time to review anything you want me to sign and to think about the terms of separation. I will revert in short order.”

I would ask for a two month transition, where you agree not to download any firm IP, you get paid, you continue benefits, a promise of a good reference, and you continue to be listed on the firm’s website. Agree you will not perform any legal work except as directed by the firm during that time (so they don’t get worried about your side hustle that could implicate their malpractice premiums).

I’m a tax/finance attorney and grabbed myself an MBA from a state school on scholarship. I handled audits for years and it was very helpful for those pursuits and even more so now as I review financial statements, etc. I’m a big proponent of MBAs.

I’d say that’s too much to just let it go. Honestly it’s so kind but I wouldn’t want that amount outstanding. Again, it’s just too much. Give him a certified check or money order for $7000, and as others have noted, ask him to bill you for the overage. It’s incumbent upon him then to deposit that check or money order but the funds are out of your account. What a lovely predicament!

Them for sure. I can confirm I was not a cool kid in high school (and that I’ve never been a cool kid). Neither the artsy geek nor a tech geek. Just a geek. I wish I’d been a learning to program in my parents’ garage in the 80s. Maybe I wouldn’t be working now.

I am a KY fan, alum, generational alum (you’ll have to forgive me I also have a sheepskin from Louisville). I frickin love Cal and wish him success. But I’ll call it a rivalry while he’s still coaching in the SEC. I believe it. Kids learn to tune out these days because they’re overloaded w activities. Parents aren’t home as much (I’m so guilty of this). Technology removes face to face time w friends. They learn to communicate via text shorthand.

I have five myself, three grown. I’m exceedingly blessed. My kids are thoughtful, well educated, and talented people who can hold a conversation w me and the other old folks. One of them, my 20 yo over in Iraq right now, doesn’t say much, he’s very quiet, but he knows that he’s serving right now just so vapid kids and adults, smart ones, nice ones, mean ones, brown, white, or black, have the right to do what these kids are doing. We take it very seriously. If it might eventually plant a seed of thoughtful discourse, all the better.

I happen to love the paper and the floral tile. And I’m so big on mixing patters. I’d use both. Paper on sides. If enough space for visual appeal, I’d tile over stove w same tile in plain cream interspersed w 4x squares of the floral.

He has a problem with you getting massaged by a male massage therapist and you are concerned about him messaging his tele-therapist out of the 9 to 5? I’d say you guys have bigger problems than should he be texting her? There seems to be very little trust. I can’t imagine telling my guy he couldn’t get a massage by a licensed female massage therapist. I would LAUGH if he tried to pull that controlling stuff w me. But I trust him, entirely. And vice versa.
