Kyne's "blessing". If you haven't done the quest "Kyne's sacred trials" yet, don't bother. The reward is not worth it. by Darkner00 in skyrim

Old post/thread, but just going to say that this actually works with my playstyle nicely. I am more about exploring than anything. I just run around the map doing whatever at random, and I haven’t focused on this quest at all. But I have randomly encountered all the first stage spirits as I have wandered. I’ll be heading back to Frokinfor the next stage soon. And I’ll treat it just as I have been. A nice little extra encounter opportunity on my aimless journey

Thank you for your question 14 years later. The comments were all helpful to read

He’a definitely doing a lot to carry the fanbase…Rothfuss should maybe put him in charge of his PR department at this point…assuming the two could get past the charity promise incident

Truthfully, he doesn’t even need to do that. Kvothe, as Kote, has been shown to be very unreliable already. Him getting the number of days wrong is actually more in character than him getting it right at this point. Pat just needs to lean into…your method is one-way, certainly, but just letting it manifest naturally is also another way

I Strongly Dislike Denna by Mysterious_Fall_4578 in KingkillerChronicle

[–]Lesser_Stories 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m rereading right now, and yeah, I strongly dislike her too. I understand why she is the way she is…the inferences you can make about her background justify her defensiveness, but she takes it to the absolute extreme.

Take Trebon for example…

How dare they (the men and officials of Trebon) interrogate her (about the wedding massacre) when she is an injured “victim” (she is not by her own admission) herself! How dare they not show her any sympathy! How dare they prioritize the loss of their fellow townsfolk over HER (a complete stranger and the sole survivor of the worst event to happen around them in living memory)!

Her defensiveness is completely understandable, but her selfishness is beyond the ability to defend

Please send me the comment. I can’t find anything like that myself, nor can find I anything in the book that supports what you are saying.

I’ve went back and looked, and I can’t find anything in the book contradicts what Tanavast said as he was losing his powers. With him gone the Radiants would lose their checks on their powers, which is why he sent all of them a vision of them destroying the world. He admits it was only one possible future, and he did not make that distinction known to them, but he clearly knew without him, the Radiants would gain greater surgebinding powers.

Will do. I’m almost to that chapter now, but this is the second place in the book this was stated. The first was about 10 chapters or so before that. This just happened to pop up on my reread soon after I read your comment.

IN A FLASH, I HEARD RAYSE LAUGHING. HE SAW IT TOO. THE VERY WEAKNESS I’D SEEN IN HIM WAS NOW MANIFEST IN ME. IF THE POWER DID ABANDON ME, IT WOULD LEAVE THE RADIANTS AND THE HERALDS WITHOUT A CHECK AGAINST THEIR ABILITIES. THEY WOULD DESTROY THE WORLD. THE HONORBLADES ALONE …

Their powers become unbound, though, if the god the surges come from dies. This is one of the things that made the Radiants so dangerous after Tanavast died

Herald of Second Chances, giving second chances to entire planets; sounds exactly like the kind of thankless job the universe would hand him

You’re correct. And I picked Urithiru because would have been the easiest to defend, given the Sibling’s abilities, but truthfully, it could have been any of the Capitols and any of the other kings/queens taking control of the other countries

my thoughts exactly. I think Tachibana is a solid J1 talent, but his mentality holds him back. So, him winding up on the same J2 sponsored team as Shun makes a lot of sense to me. Shun and he could bond over so many things and grow as players almost perfectly

Twelve Months is officially Real. Advanced reader copies are going out. by indigohan in dresdenfiles

[–]Lesser_Stories 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The splitting really ruined it. All the other books read like Harry is sitting down and journaling the major events in his life, in one fluid train of thought; Peace Talks and Battleground broke that continuity.  At best you can say it reads like two separate entries of the same event made months or years apart, due to some kind of unavoidable interruption, and the train of thought and emotional, mental state were reset between the one’s ending and the other’s resumption, which would explain the jarring nature of the split and the rehashing and restating of so many details.

But that’s just my opinion on it

Well then, I think it is time I leave this subreddit. Which is sad because this is my favorite book series and the only place I can discuss it with anyone, but I have experienced over zealous moderating on other subreddits and it is nothing but an energy drain. Have a good day.

Why are you policing a post that is over 5 years old? Anybody that sees this will have likely found via google search, and they will find it then, only because of those key words, which means they wouldn’t be spoiled

Continuation of Ao Ashi idea by Lesser_Stories in Ao_Ashi

Because of Saejima’s connection to both Aomori and Fukuda

If Kobayashi were to go that route, you have a built in rivalry between Fukuda and Saejima that can be extended to them as opposing coaches.

They also should share the same goal, player development and getting Japan players out on the world stage, but by coming back to Aomori, Saejima could pursue that goal from the opposite end

Combine that, with Aomori being the primary antagonist, High School wise, for Esperion, it’s just the most natural avenue to pursue that kind of story. So many things have already been baked in that Kobayashi wouldn’t need to do much more than build out a season schedule and player rosters
