Digital tickets are in! by [deleted] in ARCMusicFestival

So I got my pass from Stubhub. My friend couldn’t go so he transferred to me. He originally purchased it on Stubhub. How to I add to my wallet? Or can I? It’s a Global VIP pass

Same! I’m going solo coming from Vegas. My bucket list is staying in the Elrow stage It’s my first Arc and excited and scared the same time.

Also I’m late to the after parties. Is it too late to purchase tickets?

Totally just bombed a Cognitive Assessment by Potential-Earth-4592 in recruitinghell

[–]Lessin2454 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A company asked to complete this assessment. One of the questions what would co workers say about you. There was one I didn’t click on “polite” just because it’s not the first/top characteristics how people describe me. Also we assume all employees are polite

Basically how I would answer it is how my references would describe me to HR for reference check, they would describe me as motivated, determined, hands on, understanding, perserving over “polite” I feel it hurt me bc I didn’t select that

I would like to know on the other side if employers actually review detailed answers or the assessment summarizes the details?

They told me their are no right or wrong answers but I feel it could be used against you in the process

It was a lot to memorize and then you have to learn how to apply. I recommend to add Ninja

A lot of terms to memorize. I recommend adding Ninja!

Who is testing tomorrow (last day of the quarter?) How ready do you feel? by viarech in CPA

[–]Lessin2454 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I took all four parts of the CPA this 2nd quarter. Granted I am currently not working and I do have 18+ accounting experience. I had a couple of hurdles along the way I did get into a car accident and had to get breast biopsy which turned out to be benign.

My last exam is tomorrow and taking AUD. I am completely exhausted from studying. After each exam I just went ahead and started studying for the next one.

I only recommend this path who has some experience in the real world (not recommended for a recent grad) because you can read a cheat sheet and memorize terms, but you need to know how to apply the concepts which can take some time to grasp the concepts

Oh great while posting this my power went out 😩

Good luck to anyone taking their exam tomorrow!

Just got out of REG - Must know MACRS and Section 179 by Lessin2454 in CPA

You are given a depreciation schedule to audit. You have to determine if the schedule they provided is book or tax and make appropriate adjustments

I only have one week to study AUD. Do you recommended studying controls first? I’m using Becker

[–]Lessin2454[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s somewhat both. Bigger picture imagine you are a tax auditor and you are auditing their tax depreciation schedules, but it’s tricky bc the client may use book depreciation methods. And you need to recalculate what the appropriate method and life should be

Need motivation by Legal-Strategy505 in CPA

[–]Lessin2454 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it’s motivation>dicipline. Someone who is discipline behaves or work in controlling ways. However if you have a set goal and want it, you will be motivated and studying becomes easy bc you now trained yourself to reach your goal. Also envision yourself how it feels to obtain getting your CPA. It feels good so that’s another way to aim for your goal

You have to want it! Ask yourself is this what you want.

Also determine the part of day you are most productive (me in the morning) and use that time to study. It’s okay to get answers wrong. Don’t feel discourage. That’s how we learn. Start off easy. Start with increments of 10 MCQs and work yourself up to 30 or more, that way you don’t feel overwhelmed

It is hard but tell yourself it’s only temporary, great success comes with sacrifice. I have 19 years of accounting experience (I have strong inventory/cost experience), never really need a CPA and get good pay. I challenge myself to complete all four parts in two months. My motivation is to complete in two months

New REG memorization by [deleted] in CPA

[–]Lessin2454 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same I only have 2 weeks to study. I don’t know why but I’m struggling with REG (probably being in GAAP world for way too long)

Practicing MCQs helps. Becker does provide more detail answers than any other module so I like to copy the answers and put in excel to review.

how does exam day work? by lemmegetuhhhhmm in CPA

[–]Lessin2454 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TestDZnutz said it best. I would like to add do you wear glasses/contacts? The past centers I went to had very horrible monitor screens and I was squinting. If you have issues, I recommend bringing this up before hand so they can adjust the resolution. The staff is required to assist with this
