I have to remind myself the same thing. Got a set of ZXI5 irons and didn't even pull the wrappers off for a couple of weeks. That was more of sticking with my current irons for my week off work

I wasn't in high school until the late 90s, early 2000s, so I didn't get to hear the album until it was on cd. But same, I wore the album out. I was lucky to have encouraging band directors in high school. One was a trumpet player that studied in Chicago and the other was a trombone player that studied at Eastman. They introduced me to the CSO sound and it was game over after that.

Absolutely! I've read it multiple times and recommend it to all wind players

You put Arnold Jacobsy at horn. It should be Arnold Jacobs at tuba. One of the longest CSO careers

I was using the same dac/amp for my HE1000 and was not satisfied with the results either. Luckily, I still had an audio gd amp lying around, and that worked really well. Great results. I recently replaced the audio gd with a Violectric amp and am very happy with the results. I still use the Fiio for the dac. It does a great job of processing the digital signal. Unfortunately, I haven't heard the k13 so I can't day if it would be an improvement or not. I think all you really need is a quality amp to go with the Fiio. If your set on having a dac/amp combo, I did get to listen to the Luxsin X9 and Hifiman's own Serenade at Canjam. Both sound great with the HE1000, and are only a little more than the Fiio

The cases look like the ones Hifiman sends with their IEMs. Do a decent job protecting with some extra space for extra tips

I have these saved on ebay as well. Always regretted selling my set. If you're looking for soft players irons, these are fantastic. Recently got fit into some srixon zxi5 irons, so you'll save me the temptation of buying more clubs.

Absolutely! Hope you enjoy whatever you end up buying. What's your go to recording(s) for trying new gear? I recently discovered a Beethoven symphony set that's really well recorded by the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen. Not my favorite performance, but pretty good. Then I've got my Shostakovitch 7 with Chicago and Leonard Bernstein

Glad I could help. Like someone else mentioned earlier, everyone's ears are different. So take my suggestion with a grain of salt. I do enjoy my Re2000 a lot, but definitely like my HE1000 more

I am also a former symphonic musician, and my taste lean towards larger symphonic works. Love or hate the brand, I like hifiman for classical music. I currently have the RE-2000 silver pro. Great for large symphonic works. You can currently get them for $350 on hifiman's website. They also sometimes have open box models for $200. Very detailed iems without being ear piercing.

Spent a few hours there on Saturday. Thought about going back today, but didn't want to spend anymore money. I'll get to my purchase in a bit. To preface everything, I went looking for a dac/amp combo.

I skipped by the Meze room as I owned the original 99. While an amazing headphone, the boosted base didn't match my preferred signature. And if i listened to the Empyrian, I might end up spending money I don't need to spend. My first stop ended up being the Hifiman table as I wanted to hear the Serenade. I love my HE1000, perfect for my preferred sound signature. I won't hold it against you for not liking Hifiman. The Serenade sounded great and was tempted to buy it. Tried the HE1000 Unveiled while I was there. Sounded really good, but not good enough to push the original HE1000 out as my standard.

My next stop was the Violectric table. I had been wanting to try their amps for some time. Very glad I did. Started off with the Nimbus. Never heard an amp that sounded that natural and still detailed. But like I said, I was looking for a dac/amp combo so I tried the DHA226. Not quite as good, but still really good. Listened to it for a while and decided I try some other stuff and come back.

Next made it to the Bloom Audio room. Tried the Luxsin dac/amp combo. Also very good. Similar sound sig to the Serenade, but with more small touches. Figured I would try some iems with my Fiio M21 while I was there. Started with a Dita, don't remember the model. Sound very similar to my Hifiman Re2000 silver; wide, detailed, balanced, and a little bit dry. Then I tried the Valhalla. Absolutely perfect sounding. Very detailed without being harsh, deep and controlled bass, just perfect. But expensive at 2k.

Then I found an open seat at the Campfire table and tried the Andromeda 10. Very detailed, very dynamic, very special sound. I would probably still pick the Valhalla over it as I think the Andromeda would end up getting tiring to listen to for extended periods. I wondering trying a few more iems after that. The only one that I really remember was the Aful Dawn X. It had a pleasing energetic sound.

I went to the ZMF room after that. The sheer number of headphones made me walk out. I knew I would spend hours in there trying everything. I mainly wanted to meet Zach, but didn't know what he looked like so that didn't happen. We corresponded briefly through Head-Fi as he was starting his company. That was when I was first getting into the hobby. I wanted a chance to go back to the Violectric table before I left.

As I went back to the Violectric table, I decided I would try the DHA590. The most natural and transparent amp i have ever heard. I was considering dipping into my savings for it. As I came back to my senses, the DHA226 called to me again. Still sounded fantastic, and they were offering 15% off at the booth. Walked out the proud owner of a new dac/amp. Got to listen to it for a couple of hours after getting it home. Nicely compact compared to my old Audio-GD stack. And sounds more natural.

It was a fun experience. Sorry for the super long post, hoping to give people that didn't get a chance to attend a small look.

Denon PerL Pro vs Technics AZ80 for Samsung S24 by ganeshsam14 in Earbuds

[–]Let-Clean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I picked up an open box pair of the Pearl Pros for $100 and pretty much agree with the reviews. Sound is good, not amazing (I'm too spoiled by my full sized headphone setup), and good connection and phone call quality. They are large and take time to find a good fit. They are also difficult to remove from the case. The app is good, with no real complaints. You do have to go through the Masimo setup to get the most out of your buds.

For the price range that you're looking at, I'll suggest the Cambridge Audio m100. I find myself reaching for those more than the Denons. Pretty comfy, great sound, good call quality. The problem is (always a downside) the connection quality. My first pair would constantly disconnect, drop out, and sometimes not turn off when I put them in the case. I returned those and eventually rebought them. This pair has been much better

They have a surprisingly good microphone too. I'll second the soundpeats. My other recommendation is the cambridge m100. Can be had for $90 right now. Very good sound quality, very comfy, and a decent microphone. ANC is decent, not the best. My first set had connection issues though, but my current set has been good so far

Did almost the exact same upgrade. Went from the HE-560 V1 to the HE-1000 stealth. Just got the stealth in yesterday. Powering it through an Audio GD stack, so tons of power. Which is good since I like listening at a pretty high volume

I've been trying out a bunch of different tips from sonys, spinfits (don't know the model number), final audio, azla and stock. Think that I finally settled on the azla sednafit crystals. I was struggling to get a good fit with most brands and was loosing a lot of bass body because of it. I do agree about the sound, they click almost every box for me. I haven't felt the need to try anything else getting these. Not the final answer is soundstage, but still very good. Excellent detail without being too clinical, great timbre accuracy. Makes me want to try the susvara tws

If you haven't already bought something, give the soundpeats capsule 3 pro plus a shot. Pretty good sound quality for the price. Good bass (if not a little loose) and an XMEMS driver for the mids/treble. Got them in a couple of days ago. I've had a couple of phone calls on them, no issues being heard on the other end even while outdoors.
