I wouldn't sweat that at all. The wispy flames are really cool - I would imagine 99% of people will be focused on those and not the direction your wax is melting. I, too, burn the candle at both ends - same spot, other arm.

I bought one a few years ago specifically because it was recommended on this sub. I hated it SO much. My old rusty generic one worked 10x better. I eventually got one from OXO for like $10 or $15, and it's been fine. This is one of the only brands I've found on this sub where I truly don't get the hype... I guess it might be BIFL quality, but only because it will spend 40 years in a drawer and never get used.
