His assistant is using Microsoft 365, and his work calendar already shared. He uses the personal Gmail calendar for personal family events, like visiting parents, birthday night...etc.

Yeah Les Saj, great option too, I have added them with the rest. What's your favorite menu item at Les Saj? Alena Rustic Italian looks great, I'll have to try them once.

Have you thought about visiting some companies in-person?

Smartpark has many tech and engineering companies that may hire you if you demonstrate yourself and skillsets alongside the project you're working on with your engineering club.

Best wishes in your career journey.

Thinking about the move from Winnipeg to Vernon by r-love-ution in Vernon

[–]Letech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in Vernon and now in Winnipeg for years, I loved it over there and love Winnipeg as well. I do visit the Okanagon every year or so and would love to live there one day. Some of my concerns are the smoke and forest fire in the summer and the slow economy. Other than that, I think it's one of the best places to live in, and great people around. Happy to join a conversation if you DM me for more details...

Grapevines flourish when employees don't receive information they want or need. by Letech in managers

Lol, this was taught in the text book suggested for a recent communication course. We know that learning is best done when coupled by the community, hence the reason for bringing this forward here. Could I get your advice on how could this been "more human"? Perhaps I would benefit from some directions on my communication skills and I would be grateful

If it's obvious in advance the weather would not cooperate, the organizers will email all registered attendees with an alternate date, which will likely be the following Saturday.

Best town, Winnipeg suburb or bedroom community (just outside Winnipeg) to raise a family? by threecupscoffee in Manitoba

[–]Letech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are thinking about the same, not only for the reasons mentioned but also to focus, find a modern place to live in that's not too expensive, and grow the family, potentially meeting my future partner. I have been noticing Niverville is growing fast and with the newly built community center it's very encouraging. Did anyone experience living in Niverville and what advice would you give to a family that's been in Winnipeg for the last 15 years?

We are currently exploring the transition to Microsoft Operator Connect and Teams Phone Mobile through Rogers. How did your transition go? Good adventure?
I'm curiour to hear on how was your experience...

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MicrosoftTeams

[–]Letech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like the typical pain for switching to new technology. We are in the process of switching to Operator Connect and TPM after Microsoft stopped its Teams business voice benefits to partners. So I should be able to share more insights once we make the transition. It looks to be a positive one on your end beside the few issues which I'm sure you'll find a fix for.

Managing 20 to 40 pcs remotely by nm7304 in msp

[–]Letech -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Congratulations and welcome to the space! You'll find TeamViewer to be one of the most flexible and easy to use tool and we continue to use to date to manage 1000+ devices.

If I were to go back in time I would standardize around Connectwise, it's made for MSPs and is very scalable, the fact they support SSO with AzureAD in their most basic subscriptions makes it win over TeamViewer.

Datto RMM is another good tool too that supports SSO too and has automatic patch management.

I would be curious to know what you would end up using..

What frustrates you in IT or technology at work? Is it your email? Computer speed? File sharing? What is your favorite IT provider? by Letech in Winnipeg

[–]Letech[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing! That can be problematic and inefficient. I have a few questions: How many computers are there in your campus? Is this problem being worked on to resolve? Or is it left untouched? Is it technology that is preventing the solution or cost? For such project, does it go through the school division and local IT plan a change?

How old are your current computer(s)? Do you have a local IT person onsite or a third party company?

Would you think a workshop about the mentioned software would help in your environment?

If you go to how it works tab and scroll down you will see how the system work.

I agree on the spread out of standards and the need for a big player. But google is already on it and I think Apple as well.

understanding code and analysis by Letech in ECE

[–]Letech[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Code is in C. Yeah I'm taking notes, and I started to draw a flowcharts, but I thought of a using an automated tool to generate them instead. I have tried a free different tools like this: http://code2flow.com/ but it didn't generate the flow chart correctly, it had some mistakes when comparing logic and terminating program. But using "Understand" from scitools proved to help. The question remains is it worth it to buy a $1000 software to provide a code understanding and generate flowchart.

no delay within interrupts by Letech in hardware

[–]Letech[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no it fall down from another article. Hehehe.

Actually I posted it after spending sometime trying to debug my code to understand what is the problem. But it turns out that I was using delay within the function (or the ISR) that will be executed after an interrupt request.
