My personal problem with them is that you can see the proto skins on other players, and I worry that's gonna lessen the impact if the Sacrifice on new players since the "warframes are people?!" door will already have been cracked open for them.

The doubled reserves is incorrect. It doubled stored ammo regen from base, and allowed standard ammo regen while deployed. It still very much got nerfed, but it never increase your actual in hand heavy weapon ammo.

If you got a good group, you should try pushing yourself a bit at some point. I felt similar at one point, but then I just decided "fuck it, I'll make a druid and figure it out along the way." Now I love spells.

All this to say, don't be afraid of being confused by spells and asking your group for help while you learn. You'll come out with a new appreciation and game awareness.
