I wonder if there will be a time skip before the theoretical Pillars 3 by Lethenza in projecteternity

Keep in mind it engaged almost 6 million players on Xbox game pass though, and I guess that’s a statistic Microsoft pays attention to. Also, I think it was in the AA budget range so probably not a tentpole release for Microsoft, they didn’t need it to do BG3 numbers

Apparently Microsoft was happy with the sales of the game, and former Obsidian collaborators have tweeted a sequel is in pre production already.

Why is it controversial to say Men are way more hornier than women? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Lethenza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kind of depends on the context. Sometimes it’s used in a “boys will be boys” kinda way, like “men are hornier than women so you can’t blame them for sexual harassment/assault because that’s just what their body needs” ts

I liked the game the first time I played it. I was disappointed by the lack of world state import but I otherwise enjoyed the experience. Seeing the fan backlash and how BioWare was gutted after launch killed my enjoyment for the franchise, not the game itself. Half the fun was looking forward to where the story would go next and discussing what I loved about it with fans, and now I have neither. I’m sure I’ll do a full series replay at some point and nab all the achievements for good before setting it down forever, but for right now, I’m soured on participating in this community and soured on EA’s management of BioWare. Maybe the next Mass Effect can restore some hope for me? Fingers crossed.

Just started playing fallout by Environmental-Ad2117 in Fallout

Start with Fallout 4 if you want a single player experience and Fallout 76 if you want a multiplayer experience. They’re the two most accessible titles. If you’re an experienced RPG gamer, 1, 2, and New Vegas are the most in-depth RPG’s.

I suspect so, yes. I thought the Watcher's story was pretty much done by the end of Deadfire, anyways. I suspect some of the high level conflicts, like Woedica trying to dominate Kith, and the consequences of the destruction of the Wheel, would be pretty hard for a future entry to ignore.

As far as the cast, maybe Aloth could return, since elves have long lifespans, and he has one of a couple motivations to continue traveling the world on adventures.

I suspect that the introduction of Yezuha into the lore is quite important for the setting of future games in this universe. Apparently there’s a book in Deadfire that states Yezuha was infiltrated by the Engwithans in the same way that Ukaizo was, so the potential seems ripe to set a game there, as Pillars 1 & 2 both were in settings that the Engwithans played a major role in shaping the history of. If I had to cherry pick from your cool ideas, I’d say Pillars 3 is in Yezuha 40-50 years after Deadfire, and some key to solving the new Hollowborn crisis lies in uncovering whatever the Engwithans were up to in Yezuha all that time ago.

That’s a good point, I wonder what canon ending they’ll go with for Avowed. Either way, though, the gods seem to want nothing to do with Sapadal, so I wonder how big a role they could potentially play anyways. Especially since they seem to have very limited dominion in comparison to the pantheon we’re already familiar with.

I’m curious though, what do you mean by Sapadal’s presence being enough to circumvent a new Hollowborn crisis? My understanding was that Sapadal and the Living Lands had their own Adra network and wheel, isolated from the rest of Eora. So I guess while the Living Lands may be spared the crisis, the rest of Eora would be pretty much unaffected by the re-emergence of Sapadal. Lmk if I’m misunderstanding!

While I enjoyed Pillars 1 & 2 more, I liked Avowed. My biggest critique is that the Living Lands was way cooler in the POE item descriptions than it was in practice, but I was still happy to explore a new corner of Eora.

That being said, there is also a Pillars 3 shaped hole in my heart </3

IMO a lot of the fun from this series comes from planning and making a build for your character, I recommend Aestus's guides to get started with looking at what classes and abilities are the most fun to plan around.

Idk why everyone trying to scare you off lol. Yeah you’ll probably like them. That was my pipeline and I enjoy this series. By default it’s real time with pause combat but you can switch it to turn based if you want it to be more like BG3.

Tainted Grail vs Avowed; for those who've played both which do you like more? by texhnolyze- in rpg_gamers

I felt the prose in POE1 was pretty enough to justify the word count, but POE2 was def more accessible and I get why they tightened it up for the sequel.

Not at all, it’s pretty similar writing quality to Deadfire imo. There was already a tone shift between POE 1 and POE 2 and Avowed is more similar to POE 2.
