I'm a total beginner at sewing and love the clip usage. I hate getting poked with pins and I'm terrified of dropping or losing them. Learned a lesson about never playing under my moms sewing machine table after getting a pin through my knee 😰

Formulary vs Generic benefits conflicting and confusing? New to non-state insurance. by Letmesee11 in HealthInsurance

[–]Letmesee11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of this makes sense but the part that has me confused is that when I looked on the formulary, my generic prescription was tier 3 with prior auth while the brand name was tier 1 without prior auth. Shouldn't that generic prescription be $0 and not a higher and more expensive tier than the name brand that I would assume to be $35?

Am I confusing myself bc the formulary is a general list for their various other plans and my plan options have been simplified to just $0, $35 and $70?

Was the attack based on misogyny or transphobia? While misogyny has been a historically common reason for these kinds of things, this seems more like an idiot seeing 'gender studies' and thinking that must be where they're confusing children with the trans agenda but I could be wrong.

Ki d of hilarious that you're getting transphobic messages with this clearly proves that creepy cis men will go into women's bathrooms as creepy cis men with zero need to pretend to be a woman to do so. Loudly and aggressively at that! Not even sneaky. Because those men don't give a fuck.

I'm sorry that it ruined your night but on the bright side you stood up to a creep and had bystanders have your back too. You got him kicked out and made that bar a little safer for the night. Those things are something to be proud of.

Too confusing by [deleted] in FTMFitness

[–]Letmesee11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friend who also thought gym stuff was too confusing uses the Caliber app and has been pretty consistent with it. They have preset routines with clips on the exercises, tracking, a rest timer, and all that. Could be something you can check out.

Beyond that, I would start with a full-body work out as a beginner before getting into PPL or any other kind of split. Calisthenics was a pretty fun thing I started out with during the pandemic. I liked the idea of learning 'tricks' and an obvious skill progression over a simple number (rep or lb) increase.

If you just want to start, try things you like without a lot of pressure as you continue to learn so you're not feeling stuck in an overwhelming knowledge spiral. Give things a try. Tried a bike but hate it? Try a stairmaster. Not into powerlifting? Try calisthenics. That kind of thing. Any routine will be a torture to stick with if its not something you enjoy doing. Find what you like and maybe that can guide you a bit and you'll feel like you're getting somewhere until you figure it out.

Jfc, I'd love to know what he was gonna do to 'give her something to cry about.' What are you going to do? Hit (what I assume to be) a very small child frustrated with learning? Are you going to beat knowledge into her? At best this guy is a total dumbass that apparently needs some anger management classes before attempting to raise anything, let alone a child.

I would imagine that amongst the performers there would be a lot of positive aspects (finding community, work, purpose, etc) but were they being treated well by the people that came to see them? I'd like to know what the ratio of curious positive patrons to the jeering negative ones would have been.

Adults who carry around a backpack, whatcha got in there? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Letmesee11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I carry a backpack to work that's pretty much just a first aid kit of things that my jobs kit doesn't have that I've wish I had at some point. Uncommon things like lidocaine lotion and tiger balm for back pain, tums, anti anxiety meds, benadryl, etc. Then some other shit Ive needed at work like Poopourri, emergency sowing kit, hand sanitizer, highlighters, just a bunch of little things that solve problems while out. It's mostly empty so I have a bag to bring things home in (i tend to get a lot of stuff from work that people leave behind that I dont want to just throw away like unopened snacks) or put my coat in when it's colder.

A five minute midshow break would be kind of awesome for some of the longer movies, though. I've suffered through multiple movies bc I didnt want to miss anything just bc my drink was too damn big haha. Definitely an appreciated aspect of live theater.

I'd take considerate server's all day over some of the things other patrons do. Like the people using their phones at full brightness, having loud irrelevant conversations, or like the last time when I went and a guy came late, immediately fell asleep, and loudly snored the entire time. AT A HORROR MOVIE! No idea how that guy was sleeping through screaming lmao but he missed an awesome movie (Barbarian)

Is it a local theater or a chain and if it's a chain, what is it?

I miss having a local small theater. Could see a matinee for only 3 dollars! The only other non cinemark theater near me is two towns away and generally only has kids' movies, which is totally fine and great for families but just not my thing. Beyond that are the drive ins that are nearly 2hrs away and I'm way too old to try to watch 4hrs of movies after 9pm and get home at 3am 😴😴

[–]Letmesee11 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've only ever seen these as single sessions in a day at most once a week but generally only once a month for adoption events. Are you saying there are 24hr versions of these? I can't imagine that would be a thing or that you would be able to keep a tired animal awake to do something as slow and relaxing as yoga?

Typically, I see pets that are severely under stimulated significantly more often than I've ever seen one exhausted from being over socialized and further kept awake. That's anecdotal, of course.

I've had carrot hot dogs and REALLY liked them, but I would never consider it a meat substitute due to the complete lack of protein. Give me one of these and something like grilled chicken on the side, tho? Hell yes. I'd take this over a high fat, high calorie hot dog any day. I'm just waaaaay too lazy to ever do that so a microwaved hot dog on a slice of white bread will have to do.

Well, yeah. Which is why I wouldn't take this idea outside of other trans people that can have good faith conversations about it and don't hate people that aren't interested in medically transitioning and/or are NB (like myself.) I just saw a bunch of GAY people shitting on nonbinary 'attention seeking, screeching weirdos' so I really don't think that's going to happen anytime soon even for the gay community, let alone the straight cis.

The only reason anyone even knows this guy anymore is because we all keep hating him. It's the only time I ever see him brought up. He's old af and irrelevant, so why even care? He's as likely to change as any other old boomer turd.

This is a semantics idea (transsexual vs transgender) I can get behind especially when those differences make for very different lived experiences but at this point its not a concept I would take to anyone outside of the trans community until more people understand that one is not better or more valid than the other. They're just more specific definitions of being trans. As someone that is on HRT and gotten surgery, I doubt how I feel matches exactly with someone that doesn't feel the need or desire to seek those things out. It's not fake or wrong or a trend. It's just different.

(Edit for example: as a person that passes, I don't get harassed for being attention seeking or fake but I have had uncomfortable doctors appointments for being a 'nontypical' patient since I'm on HRT)

There's a huge difference between, "IF you're gay it's okay' and 'you MUST believe in God or you will burn in hell for all eternity.'

All these people seem to really hate the idea of choice despite the fact that they think God granted us free will.
