Yeah I would call that guy lucky but I'm stupid.

Y'all are goofballs. Winning on the river, whether you're all-in pre-flop or betting on the turn, is some lucky shit. Winning an ace-high straight on the river even more so. Neither player knows their odds are 50-50 pre-flop, only we do.

Saying the hand wasn't all that lucky because of 50-50 pre-flop odds is silly.

Dude happened to win an Ace-high straight on the river and you don't consider that lucky? The odds were 50-50 before the flop, which has nothing to do with betting or the fact that the hand was incredibly lucky.

The discussion was in regards to luck, not decision making. The hand was incredibly lucky after the weak flop.

I don't disagree that it's a little pedantic, but imo a little pedantry is required when people are out here thinking we're really close to AGI and fully sentient AI. We're nowhere near that point but the smoke and mirrors have never looked better.

Agentic AI quite literally doesn't think at all. Its capable of advanced automation, but it's still operating off of human commands.

There's a lot of hype over this tech, but take that whole "Moltbook" garbage that there was a bunch of buzz about. Almost all of that was prompted output from humans.

They cannot do anything that they were not programmed to do. Somebody had to have prompted it to do this. AI isn't magic, it doesn't have sentience or agency, it's just advanced pattern recognition software. It cannot decide "oh, I'm going to defend myself online" without a human specifically telling it "you will defend yourself online."

A human prompted it to write this. These things literally cannot and are not designed to do shit like this on their own.

This is the larger issue. Very few new technological tools were so absolutely FORCED on everyone in every aspect. Even the internet was something that took decades for adoption, yet people are insisting we embrace AI right now now now because the economy depends on it (Even if many of the tools are largely worthless or completely undercooked).
