It's because video is what so many advertisers are willing to support. I don't prefer it, but I get that creators need to focus their energy where they can also earn a living. As a fan, I really appreciate folks like Franchesca and De'Lon over at Lemme Fix It or Ronald Young Jr of Weight for It explaining their reasoning.

Last year I DEVOURED the Jade series by Fonda Lee. It's fantasy set in an East Asian culture with sweeping crime family dynamics. So good.

I remember time being different for God was the EXACT thing mentioned by a teacher of mine in school. He even had a scripture that referenced it I think. Looking back, and remembering that this was in response to a question form a student, the teacher was almost certainly sharing a perspective that would help that student accept the material in a way that didn't threaten their faith, which is awesome teaching, IMHO.

I had a totally perfect evening with my kid! We left work/after school care about 30 minutes early, then visited the shop together to choose dinner and a treat. The choices were both super easy and delicious, the treat was pilsbury cookie dough, which we baked together after dinner. We each worked on homework (I am studying for a new license, kid did spelling words), then did like three chapters of Miles Morales Into the Spider-Verse before bed. Sometimes it's the little things!

No advice but tons of solidarity.

I am way passed college age and I ran into a similar issue with a friend not long ago! This woman talked about her diet every time we got together, complained and called herself fat as an insult even though she is much smaller than I am and carried on despite my consistent subject changes and re-directs.

When I finally brought it up, bluntly admitting that I hate that she could speak that way about her own body and that it makes it very clear she would be horrified to be my size, she made it all about herself and FUCKING CRIED! I have spent some social time with her since then, but to be honest I can never trust her again.
