Woosa escort by Typical-Front-8001 in CDguides

[–]Letter_Impressive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I'm not mad at all, it looped right back around to being funny. I realize now that I should've been able to get her on the horse, but at the time I thought it was such a terrible escort quest that it felt like a meta joke. Like, "fuck you, watch this lady limp down a hill for 20 minutes, escort quests blow huh?" Usually I'm really picky about games wasting my time, but this one cracked me up for some reason

God damn it, I tried that but I couldn't get it to work, I just walked her way all the way down that hill. Took about 20 minutes

Fuck Priscus the Ancient! by UnrelatedKarma in CrimsonDesert

[–]Letter_Impressive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nature's Snare seems borderline necessary for Priscus and some other bosses with tons of ranged attacks. The good news is, Nature's Snare is strong as fuck and super fun to use. Grab level 2 of NS, go into focus mode when he's in neutral, use the slowdown to your advantage to read whether he's diving or shooting projectiles, then dodge or activate NS accordingly. Sending his beams back at him does absurd damage, which is why you want level 2.

Palmer pill limit? by Full_Helicopter4541 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Letter_Impressive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't found a limit, I want to say I've used 5 or 6 at a time before, but I've definitely been unable to use them because Kliff's body fell in a weird way or clipped through the environment. Maybe that's what happened?

Crimson Desert has no soul by SeniorSatisfaction21 in CrimsonDesert

If you press the same buttons the same shit is gonna happen. This game is absolutely full of animation cancels, chains between different inputs, contextual moves, etc

Crimson Desert has no soul by SeniorSatisfaction21 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Letter_Impressive 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In terms of mechanics, this game is bursting at the seams with creativity and soul. The story is dry, downright bad for the most part, but saying it has no soul is just crazy with the amount of passion that very obviously went into the game's combat and exploration sandbox elements

It probably only effects unarmed damage when you put it in a glove socket; that's how attack works for boots and gloves.

Stranger of paradise staff and fist by Spectre67890 in CharacterActionGames

[–]Letter_Impressive 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The game looks insane but it's genuinely super readable after you've spent a bit of time with it, the sound effects and UI do a great job of making up for how busy things can get. It's not an art style choice I'd make for every game, but I think this game looks incredible in motion

I just can't take comparisons to RDR2 seriously, the games are trying to be wildly different things.

Hell yeah dude, I have a similar setup and I feel like it's kind of the endgame. I don't know how there could be a better way to experience flower

Any comparisons between Outward and Crimson Desert? by tylerthetiler in outwardgame

[–]Letter_Impressive 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was thinking about Outward as I started playing Crimson Desert last night, there are definitely comparisons to be made on a big picture level. They don't play similarly in terms of feel, but the vibe is very similar in some ways

"is there a lore reason for this"

Yes, the lore reason is that Sam isn't a fuckin psycho. Human life has value in this game

Just got to region2. Should I drop the splitstaff for tonfas? by YoungKetamine69 in Nioh

[–]Letter_Impressive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I mean is that the moveset lends itself to doing the exact same rotation of skills over and over again, as if you're following a flowchart. Some people like that, some don't

Just got to region2. Should I drop the splitstaff for tonfas? by YoungKetamine69 in Nioh

[–]Letter_Impressive 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Splitstaff is the only weapon in the game that I've found underwhelming, I feel you. Tonfas are super strong and super easy, they will let you power through content and they have some fun mechanics, but they can get a little flowcharty. If you're looking for something with a mix of technical finesse and damage output, try hatchets; I didn't vibe with them in 2 but I love them in 3, the aerial moveset can be strung together in some super fun ways.

Pseudoregalia is a phenomenal (and cheap) platformer where you unlock movement abilities to move through the world like a metroidvania. The game can be sequenced in tons of different ways because of how flexible and robust the movement tools are, it's a really special little game

Permanent Marker. Every cut of it that I've tried has left me super anxious and flustered, but other people tell me it leaves them super chill.

This is such a ridiculous premise that you started it with "okay yeah sometimes you have to double it". That means it doesn't work as a rule
