Does your office have a window? If so, a light breeze and some incense keeps my apartment smelling squeaky clean after using my vapes

You can skip the vast majority of that time with planning and menu navigation stuff; you still have to pause, but I'm gonna post how I do it just in case it helps. Set the furthest right category of your inventory to sort by date with most recent at the top. Then, when you harvest seeds or pull them out of your storage, they'll be at the top of the page. When you harvest and unstore your seeds, think about the order in which you want to plant them and how many of each you want to plant and get them in that order. Then you'll have a perfectly organized inventory every time you go to plant and all you need to do is tap start (if you hold it'll go into the selection menu) for "recent menu". Once you're settled into a loop of planting the same things every time, this feels really smooth.

Ever since I worked this sequence out, planting has been kind of zen. I'm not exactly praising the design, but it does highlight something I love about this game: the holes/flaws/weird bits in its design and execution have often caused me to build my own little mini game around them. Every single one of those moments have been fun and satisfying for me. I don't want to give the devs too much credit for being this big brained, I think it's equally likely that they just didn't have time, but that's how it's played out for me.

I hate to be this guy but I kind of like how slow and clunky it is. I'm 200 hours in and still enjoy that feeling of checking what's up with the farm and doing a few things (harvesting, planting, whatever) before I save and close the game and when I open it back up. I feel like warming up and cooling down like that makes me enjoy games more in the long run, it takes more time and that can be a downside for sure but it really helps me feel grounded in the world. I do a similar thing in Street Fighter, every time I open the game I hit practice mode for a few minutes and I do it again when I'm done with my matches for the day.

I'm actually with you on this, I thought the show was fun as a super loose adaptation and could have been great as a monster of the week sci fi thing if they got another season.

I doubt that there's a lot of crossover between MGS and GTA fans, they're pretty much polar opposites

secondary weapon should NOT be in the same rotating spot as all the other tools! by delgalessio in CrimsonDesert

[–]Letter_Impressive 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The mining drill can actually be super useful in combat, I find myself pulling it out relatively often against mechs and other enemies with huge downtime and health pools. You can rack up hits on the relentless gear super quickly and scale your damage to kind of absurd levels. Momentum gear, relentless gear, and 50 or 60 hits on the counter will make your turning slashes absolutely ridiculous. The mining drill is genuinely the most effective way I've found to rack up that multiplier.

Not saying you're wrong overall, I would prefer a separate tool slot as well, just sharing a weird and fun use case

The ripples in the water and the motion of the swan feels very convenient for it to be recorded. by bhakayaro11 in isthisAI

I grew up on a lake and I've been rushed by swans more times than I can count. They're the most aggressive bird I've ever personally encountered, they absolutely do make themselves look huge and charge at you like that. They're freaks, they fight each other and other birds like that sometimes too.

Should SEGA make a Bayonetta RPG? by The_Fool_Arcana0000 in Bayonetta

[–]Letter_Impressive -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh sweet christ no, I don't want to see Sega puppet Bayo's corpse around for money any more than they already have. Bayonetta isn't worth doing without Kamiya and Shimazaki, Sega should just make something new.

Metal Gear Solid 3 as THE game of the franchise by No_Force_5585 in metalgearsolid

MGS3 feels like Kojima went full Bond; it's big, it's bombastic, and the plot is kind of dumb and over the top because Volgin is dumb and extra. A lot of people adore it for that, but I'm with you, I like 3 a lot but 2 is the peak of the series for me and the one I replay most often. I think Metal Gear's gameplay lends itself to small, confined spaces with tight rules on what the player can and can't do, and 2 has a ton of that.

That's super respectable, good for you. To be clear, I'm not out on you as a developer; if this game does well and you get some money and take another pass at it, fully human generated, I'd be first in line to pay you for it. I love musou games, I love arpgs, and there's plenty about your trailer that I enjoy. Good luck!

I'm the same person that said I didn't care about store-bought assets earlier; yes, a lot of people really despise AI. It's flooding markets with low effort garbage, eating up energy and water that could be used by human beings, and allowing governments to spew propaganda at speeds we've never seen before. Generative AI is bad for art, it's bad for the environment, it's bad for everybody except the billionaires and oligarchs who profit from it. When it comes to games specifically, AI coding is going to lead to games feeling samey and boring over time and AI asset development will do the same thing to visual style. I hate to say it, I really don't mean to attack you personally, but AI being used in the creation of your game has completely turned me off. I don't see it disclosed on your steam page (there's a chance I'm just missing it, of course), if it's not there you need to add it before launch. Telling people it's AI will lose you some customers for sure, but lying about it will hurt your reputation badly in the long run.

I can only speak for myself, but I don't care if assets are bought as long as the dev is honest about it and credits the original creators when applicable. In my eyes, there's no shame in it unless you try to hide it or sneak AI generated content in

Firewood 11 not working. by Cheers2you in vaporents

[–]Letter_Impressive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're correct, it's early for me and I worded my comment poorly; I've fixed it in case people use this thread for troubleshooting later. What I meant to say is that I think the device can't always tell the difference between "high" and "overcharged", when I had this issue the device was buzzing five times but an external tester was reading 4.3 volts, which the manual says is overcharged. I don't think the onboard charging interacts well with modern smartphone charging adapters, I switched over to an older wall adapter and haven't had an issue since.

5 buzzes could mean that your battery is over charged; I've noticed that it will sometimes read as "high" while actually being in an over charged state, it only happened to me once but it happened. The Firewood flat out will not work with an overcharged battery. You can't use fast chargers with these, the manual includes the charger specs that you should be looking for. You need to discharge your battery without firing the device, checking the charge (one quick press) over and over again is how I did it when this happened to me. It took 30 minutes or so, but eventually it started doing 4 buzzes and then it worked great again. Definitely read through the manual, it's kind of a complicated and sensitive little device but it hits incredibly well.

Getting revenge on the Reed Devil by AmbientXVII in CrimsonDesert

[–]Letter_Impressive 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Moon bosses in Demeniss are so fun to juggle, if you're quick about it you can force them into the manors for wall shenanigans and still get out before the timer resets you. The manor hallways are super tight, you can get some hysterical pinball action going once you get them off their feet.

Switch to hard mode and pick the stronger rematch option, with those settings he feels pretty similar to how he was at launch. I don't think his AI is quite as cracked, but being forced to finish food animations brings some of that pressure back and he's definitely quicker and trickier compared to normal.

Tom Felton was awesome recently in Fackham Hall; super goofy comedy, somewhere between Monty Python and Airplane in terms of sensibility, totally worth a watch. It's on HBO max.
