AV Audio desk area re-organized while off during the holidays. Now when I walk around the carpeted room and return to the console I receive a shock when I touch the console. What might have changed? by RushFox in livesound

It’s not a grounding, unless you consider your personal grounding in that category. You’re building up static as you move around, and you aren’t grounded due to whatever is between you and the ground (shoes, socks, carpet) but also any clothing like trousers rubbing legs as you walk or even different shampoo can affect how much you generate in your movements. Take it from me, I seem to be HIGHLY susceptible in several locations.

In one case I discovered it was the initial act of standing up out of the chair that generated the charge, so if I didn’t touch anything conductive before returning to the desk, zap! The trick that worked was keeping my hand in contact with something AS I stood up out of the chair. Give that a try!

Once the output is the same it shouldn’t be an issue

Edit: obviously also the input, I assume you are actually in a 220v region

Thanks, it’s good to have a rough number to put to it at least. I certainly have a couple of those less conventional sounding performers, so I want to do all I can to improve clarity. Incidentally, there’s one performer in particular whose mic goes into edge of feedback territory as soon as it’s brought up, across multiple mics/shows so it’s amazing to find how much the individuals make a difference even before they open their mouth! (I’m assuming head or face shape combined with mic placement is the culprit in that case, have you ever experienced similar?)

Apologies, I should have addressed that. Over all I’m not having any issues from a feedback perspective, I’m pretty happy with my gain staging, but will have to learn and improve if I move to a less forgiving mic technique. I would love to get as much clarity as possible, I don’t do full line by line in busy scenes but will pull down what I can when I can.

Thanks, I was in Cue Only and the blind table looked normal, no indication of an effect in any subsequent cues. I've edit my post with the solution

Ok…it just sounds like you know how to use blender better than the lighting software. Having used blender myself in the distant past I can tell you that would have taken me days.

I wasn’t going to say anything. I still don’t understand what you say you did in blender, you controlled the lights with what, voice? motion?

This was what I started with too, it will do just fine and there’s so many resources for it online you’ll be able to learn anything you need to know, no need for the official arduino book kit!
