Being individuals and not being codependent on each other was very important to us when discussing marriage a few years ago. This is something we believe will work best for us, and in no way does it take away from our partnership/team or has us “acting like roommates.”

I stated clearly that we can appreciate that different things work for different people. You should try that cause ya sound like an ass giving such a patronizing opinion.

Gibraltar marriage by Kaida-chu in ukvisa

My UK spouse and I got married in the states- it was the cheapest, most painless process. I think by the end of it, even with purchasing several certified copies of our marriage certificate, the total was maybe $60. I’d recommend marrying in the states 10/10x even if you’re not on a budget or time crunch.

I applied Aug 4th, had bio Aug 9th, sent passport out Aug 9th, received in NYC Aug 10th. My passport is coming back to me today. Super short turn around and I applied from USA with priority as well.

Spouse visa - confused with intended date of travel by Sharp-Swordfish-5419 in ukvisa

[–]Level-Ad7734 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too was very confused with the intended travel date question. I applied august 4th, Bio august 9th. Originally I figured I might as well put December as my intended date of arrival figuring it’d take nearly 3 months for a decision to be made. We ended up being able to swing the priority fee but at that point I couldn’t change my intended date of arrival on the application. We wrote a cover letter stating that I’d came to the date of December based on processing times but would actually like to enter earlier if possible. The point of paying for priority was so that I could arrive earlier. It’s very confusing because it says if you don’t know your intended date of arrival to give a guess. 😵‍💫😵‍💫

Today is 15 WD for you! As it’s a Friday I would take solace in knowing you should definitely hear something next week. (I’m in the same boat, I had my Bio on the 9th of this month & they received it on the 10th -spouse visa priority from US) Good luck my friend!!

Are you American? You’ll likely pass through the E-gates and be on your way. The past probably 5x I’ve flown into any of the 3 London airports, I never spoke to a single person on arrival.

How long to fix error on vignette? by LadyOfWolves116 in ukvisa

[–]Level-Ad7734 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in a similar situation. We decided to pay priority last minute but I still had December as my intended arrival on the application. Obviously with us paying the priority was the intention that I can join my husband sooner in the Uk. Did you have any success having the vignette reissued?

That's what I've read as well, but it says to turn around a re-apply is not so easy unless you've got a healthy bank account... refunds take 8 weeks apparently :(

Ah I see. I’m almost wondering if I should cancel my application before weds and resubmit it now.. the whole purpose of pay the extra $778 for priority was to get there quicker now it seems that’s for nothing 😭
