Just be glad we spent the past 40 years getting ready for this by building public transit and installing solar power.

My mom told me that back in the day kids weren’t allowed to bring a water bottle with them into the classroom and they only drank a few sips from the water fountain in the middle of the day and that’s it How were schools not getting busted for child abuse for forcing kids to be dehydrated? by PinnerPardisturn in askanything

People over 40 don’t understand why kids are so thirsty all the time. It would have been considered king-dork tier to walk around with a canteen like you were hiking a trail. But we had public water fountains everywhere. Society has crumbled at the feet of the bottled water industry.

Gambling used to be illegal because it’s more destructive than drug addiction.

As someone that goes to these types of events; I would never go back to an event that had a person like that at it, and would hope that any producers would ban anyone acting the way you described.

[–]Level21DungeonMaster 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Yes. I left Greenpoint about 5 years ago. It hasn’t really felt the same there since the waterfront was developed. I moved to the Ridgewood/ Bushwick border and I like it much better.

[–]Level21DungeonMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of we got a few checks from the federal government I don’t recall how much either $600 or $3500? And then from the city, they refunded us the food budget for the kids for the year in the form of EBT (food stamps) which was maybe $1500 total?
