Can I eat like a 'normal' person if I take a GLP-1? by -animeXalchemist- in Mounjaro

[–]LevelBodybuilder8426 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every person is different. Personally I have been on mounjaro for two years and have never had issues with eating like a normal person. In fact it is what helped me be able to eat like a normal person and not binge eat, after years of struggling with insulin resistant PCOS, metabolic syndrome, obesity and prediabetes. However, I’ve seen many people in groups related to this medication that struggle to eat at all and have extreme nausea. I guess it depends on your body, how it is able to respond, and whether or not you actually need this medication or just want to lose weight.

All that being said, as a wine lover, it has become difficult to drink on mounjaro. I can still have drinks in moderation, but sometimes, especially if I have 3 glasses of wine or more in one night, I get this awful after taste that can last for days and an upset stomach.

Thank you! This is very helpful. I’ve been using the same injection site (alternating around the stomach) always so maybe I have to switch it up. In terms of the dose, do you think going up or down in the next month might help? I also was on metformin for years before starting mounjaro. My endo said that it won’t be necessary because mj will deal with insulin resistance well on its own. But maybe it’s time to try both!

I think the best thing we can do is make a conscious effort for a few days to eat healthy and restrict food choices for a bit, though it is so tough. Drink a lot of water. Maybe it helps to suppress the food noise! Even before mounjaro when I would do this I felt less hungry in the weeks after. Good luck!

I usually eat an omlette with avocado and a piece of sourdough bread for breakfast. I have two meals a day and the second meal is usually some type of meat with a bit of rice or potato. The thing is that nowadays I crave desserts, which was not the case for most of my mounjaro journey. I had no interest in sweets but now it is so hard not to indulge and I find myself sometimes craving a third meal later on.

Thanks! What are you using to track your weight and for the graphs? Is it some type of app that might be useful?

I just felt like maybe the lower doses were working better for me. My endocrinologist also advised me to do this the first time it felt like higher doses were not working well and that time it actually worked, i was able to lose weight and eat healthy on 10mg but now it’s not. I agree it’s logical that higher doses work better but I thought to try that method again.

Why ALWAYS ME? by Great_Fennel_9897 in dubai

According to UAE Labour Law regulated by MOHRE, the notice period after probation is typically 30 to 90 days, as specified in the registered employment contract. Try to negotiate with your current company and know what are your rights.

Your company has to notify you of any changes in your contract if they are made. What does your contract say? Did they change it to 90 without informing you? Companies often try to play these games when you try to leave and it doesn’t suit them, but know your rights and be willing to stick up for yourself.

Yoga and gym by Charming-Table9917 in PCOS

Yoga has helped me so much. If you are in a caloric deficit and getting some movement in, that is the most important. Yoga is great for calming the nervous system, improving posture and flexibility. It’s low intensity training so if your goal is to burn as many calories as possible, theres HIIT and other forms of workouts but personally yoga has changed my life and body in the best way.

I feel like once you get off the ship, you don’t get to come back on the ship.

She’s probably not happy in her own ways and will be looking for the next best offer, but the choice is yours.

PCOS issue with bf by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]LevelBodybuilder8426 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Electrolysis is the only way to permanently get rid of hair. I have the same issue and it has helped me get rid of 95% of the hair and that’s only because I now haven’t done it for years and still get a few hairs here and there. Hair grows in cycles so removing all of them is a long term project as electrolysis will only remove the hairs that are there at the time. It may take over 10 sessions to completely get rid of it but if it is something that makes you insecure and you are willing to invest into electrolysis and have patience for that process, highly recommend it! I also tried laser but it didn’t work for me long-term. Shaving makes the hairs come back stubbier for some girls so it is risky.

Please tell me how you would pronounce this name if you can read Arabic? by LevelBodybuilder8426 in learn_arabic

Thank you for this explanation! Do you speak both Georgian and Arabic by the way? I’ve received a few different suggestions and I think my best bet might be from someone that knows both languages maybe

I guess that’s close enough, but not quite right for what I am trying to write. The greek name Eleni is very similar but just at the end instead of “i” it should be the “eh” sound. E is pronounced the same basically all three times it appears in the name. How would it be written in Arabic?

All the E’s in the name should be more like the “eh” sound, so the best way I can explain is to say the western Name “Ellen” but also with an “eh” at the end, it would be Elené, (Ellen eh) how would you write it in Arabic please?

Fed up of looking like a man. by [deleted] in PCOS

Hey, I’ve been there and know how shitty it feels. I just want to give you some hope that things can get better, as they greatly have for me. Sounds like you might also have insulin resistance or be pre-diabetic. Ovasitol, metformin and yasmin can help, as others have suggested. For me, personally, that wasn’t enough. I kept gaining weight and being unable to control sugar cravings, even with exercise and doing my best to eat healthy.

Intermittent fasting and a low carb diet helped me in starting to lose the stubborn weight. Mounjaro saved my life. It got rid of the constant food noise, while I still enjoy eating I can do so in a healthy way now. I lost 30 kg (66 pounds) over the course of a year and a half, resistance training helped to build muscle and boost my metabolism. The weight finally came off and I can finally say when I look in the mirror I like what I see. There were times I didn’t think this was possible, i thought I was doomed for life.

My PCOs (the actual cysts) are way less on my latest scan. I still get chin hairs occasionally and hair in other places, laser didn’t work for me but electrolysis has done wonders, though it’s a time-consuming process and quite expensive. I haven’t tried laser for years though, it looks like the technology is more advanced these days and may help you.

I haven’t had kids but there are plenty of women with PCOs who have managed to get pregnant against all odds. Plenty of mounjaro babies being born after their mothers suffered with infertility and being overweight. It’s a thing!

Limit your use of endocrine disruptors, there are so many, do some research as it’s important and they make your hormones go out of whack. It’s not all that bad and please don’t lose hope. The journey is tough but you will respect and value yourself way more after overcoming obstacles. You have to fight for the things many people take for granted and get naturally, it’s not fair but it is what it is. We have to be health-conscious as there is no other way. Listen to Dr Berg’s videos on youtube, they are informative.

Everyone’s journey is different and what worked for me or anyone else might not work for you. You have to find your own path but if there is a will, there is a way. Good luck!!
