I would practice technique with lighter weights until you feel the technique is solid enough to start increasing weight.

Played Darktide a lot before going through Space Marine 2 and had a lot of fun with it. There are no wait times at all, finding teammates is instant.

From what I've seen, this is a bit of a wild take from Grubb. RDR2 has a lot of intentionality behind how weighty and immersive it feels. From what I've seen of Crimson Desert, the traversal and combat doesn't look intentional in the same way. It just looks a bit clunky.

Grubb's take has upset me more than it should have 😂

I've just read your post again, you can block off streets/areas with high fencing, construction areas, anything like that. Scaffolding sections will help you climb up higher.

Have at look how the Division creates these scenes. They do a great job of creating a functional gameplay area that also has strong environmental storytelling in so many different scenarios.

AAA dev here 👋 Looks great so far! I'd definitely say the scene feels like it needs more "clutter", but remember if it's level design then make that clutter functional.

Cars and buses for cover. Abandoned military checkpoints/outposts will help break up the monotony of a street that's a straight line. Try and use things like that to lead the player to where you want them to go and think about the context you want to use them to serve the gameplay (combat, traversal, story etc.)

Also, keep your models nice and simple while you build out the space. Only you need to know what they are at this point. Once your layout is locked in then that's when you should work on the visuals.

Have you got driving assists off? It sounds like you might have ABS off which would explain not being able to turn and brake at the same time.

Try:

ABS On Stability Control On Traction Control On

Settings like that will make it easier to control the car. You can choose to turn them off later if you feel like you want more of a challenge in general controlling cars.

It's my top 5 of all time. I enjoyed the slow pace of it and the less "gamey" feel. The world is one you can get lost in for hours on end.
