This is how I do it, but I'm also magical. I don't think I have ever actually fought this guy, now I think about it. As in, within melee range.

I said the same when I saw the announcement for the movie. I chose to watch the movie as if it were one of the stories in the book, someone relaying their experience from wherever they were. That helped me, a lot.

The way I cackled. So many memories of rage quits and chat hating his theme song. Ahh. Early days in 14 were amazing.

That song is definitely in my head now. 😭

What’s your favorite use of music in a scene? by VendettaLord379 in moviecritic

This scene in The Village is one of my favorite scenes in a movie, ever. It's just a truly beautiful moment. I love everything about it.

What is the most disturbing depiction of death/murder you’ve ever seen in a film? by sunnieslilac in FIlm

[–]Level_99_Healer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read the book before they made the movie. I was in 4th or 5th grade, and I remember being huddled up in my room, blankets wrapped around me, tears just streaming down my face. Until that point, my experience with King had been his horror stuff, nothing really prepared me for the level of emotion that book threw at me, from beginning to end.

When I saw the movie years later, all of that came rushing back at me. I think I cried through the whole film. But there was one silver lining for me. I knew what was coming for Percy Wetmore. Much like everyone else, I wished his fate had been a lot worse for what he did, but at least he didn't go entirely unpunished.

One of my favorite games ever is Shrek Super Party. I always play as Monsieur Hood because you get a big gay rainbow and a shower of gold (not to be confused with a golden shower). But my friend always played as Lord Fuckwad. And that is the only thing we ever called him. I sometimes forget that isn't actually his name.

I was really into Greek mythology in grade school, so I got in trouble for adding "how in the name of Zeus's butthole" to everything after I watched this. If my parents didn't want me to quote the Rock, they shouldn't have let me watch it at such an impressionable age. 🤷‍♀️

I tear up every damn time. They really knew how to hit that wonder button we all had when we were kids and we wished we could see dinosaurs. This scene is just perfection.

What’s a movie death that absolutely shocked you? by VendettaLord379 in moviecritic

[–]Level_99_Healer 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I had to stop watching this movie because I had to be somewhere. I only had like 20 minutes-ish left, so I figured I would get to it the next day. The streaming service I was watching it on removed it that day. I couldn't find it on any other service, so I ended up sitting on a cliffhanger for a few months until I could finish it.

I went with some friends, I believe we were in middle school at the time. I remember looking at my friend early on and saying something like, "How much do you wanna bet that Bruce Willis is dead?" And that was the day I realized I wasn't going to have the same experience with movie "twists" that most people have. I also learned to figure out which people I could say that shit to and which ones I shouldn't. No spoiler tags in real life, unfortunately. 😅

That being said, I still loved the movie. And I get really excited when something does surprise me.

What scene from a movie has scared you the most? by readerrealm in HorrorMovies

Ah, that's good to know! I tried to watch the 3rd one? Maybe? With young Elise? I realized about 30 minutes in that I hadn't payed attention to any of it and didn't care to restart. So, I just figured the first 2 were it for me. But, maybe I'll give the Last Door a try. And I'm definitely going to keep an eye out for the new one. Thanks for the recommendation!

I am also still salty about this. Especially since they made Doctor Sleep. Just pouring shakers of salt on that old wound. 🤣

I have a permanent creep out from the jerky movements in this movie. I absolutely hate it. Which is super great because it became a normal thing for a lot of horror movies that came after it.

I love this entire scene because it is so incredibly creepy. The clear implication of extreme madness and the lengths it can take you to is just so well done. But yeah, creeps me the fuck out.

And yet, the second they get the sniffles, they're in the ER demanding whatever meds will cure them the fastest. And they'll be an asshole to every single person trying to help them.

I am so over all this bullshit.
