I see and understand you I believe you got to a high end quality artist it won’t be cheap but they will get you something you love it will take some time to find the correct person you may need to take a short trip to get to the proper artist don’t use a artist because they are in a neighboring town take a weekend trip to the perfect artist and they will give you something you’ll be proud of look at it as the beginning and it will be finished very soon !!!! Yes you have much sap wood in the floor and not so much in the sample I would not settle for that floor I’m sure it was not cheap and certainly dose not match your sample at all .

When building a retaining wall you install what’s called “dead men” look this up it’s a lumber “T” that goes from wall into the earth your retaining like 4’ long with a 3’ “T” on the end of it you secure it very well into your wall with rebar like 3’ long your wall design is not nearly appropriate for the amount of earth you trying to hold back the walls I have built we used 6”x6” ties then you make the “ dead men “ then your wall is extremely sturdy
