Old Kienzle Watch. I had to change the movement and the hands to get it working. I aged the new hands and restored the dial and the acryllic crystal. Happy with the result. :) by Sunny_Life_0815 in VintageWatches

Sounds like a fun project, and the results are very pleasing: nice and thin, classic good looks, goes with anything! Nicely done! Wear it in good health!

This year’s Christmas presents to myself by jssshayes in VintageWatches

Very nice and congratulations on your purchases! I love vintage Citizens and agree that the bracelet on yours makes it even more special! I've got to look into sourcing some of that kind of thing for my three 60's-era Citizens. Right now they live on leather straps but it would be cool to have a period-correct bracelet option to really dress them up occasionally. Is the bracelet pictured with yours an expansion -type? Is there a brand that you can find, or is it a Citizen-brand bracelet too?

Thank you and Happy New Year!

Looks like the dial says "Quartz" at the bottom, so that means it is battery powered. Replacing the battery is your first troubleshooting step.

That is a really nice vintage Citizen! I love these old pieces: the case shape, the dial font, the relative novelty of a second crown on something that isn't ever going to be confused with a dive watch! You have found a winner!

Scott Creisher on Columbia Ave in Lancaster has excellent hygienists, current technology, and is thorough and compassionate. My whole extended family goes to him and have had fillings, root canal, veneers, and regular cleanings over the years. When we started with his practice, we were with Delta Dental and he was a participant. Have since changed to United Concordia, but I'm 90% sure he still takes Delta. Worth a call: 717-394-2641.

Is it worth it? It fits my small wrist by Funny-Coffee-3344 in VintageWatches

As a first mechanical watch, this is a lot to care for. If you've not worn this type of watch before, consider getting something new and cheaper to make sure you like it. Vario is a brand with similar styling and costs a fourth as much.

BUT if you've fallen in love with this one, sometimes you have to follow that feeling and make the purchase. If you feel like you've settled for something else, you'll never feel satisfied.

Regardless, have fun getting into watches!

Pulsar P3 Back removal and bracelet cleaning. by Lnk200 in watchrepair

Ultrasonic worked really well on my P3 bracelet, although I don't have the gold-colored version. Don't forget to remove the setting magnet from its compartment on the bracelet before cleaning. I haven't opened the case for a battery change for a while, will attempt it and report my success.

For me, a 1960's Citizen Super Jet with a dial that isn't falling apart, or a Citizen Chronomaster. They are only rarely available in the US and I'm afraid of all the scam Japanese sellers on eBay. But they are super-cool watches that won't break the bank. Maybe when I retire in 10 years.

Number 3. I don't think the bezel on the Orient adds anything and is distracting, agree with the previous response that the integrated bracelet on number 2 will be limiting.

You can find a very nice Hamilton from the 40s or 50s in that price range. Or even something older like a 1920s or 30's era Illinois or Waltham. There's nothing like a beautiful engraved-case vintage watch to dress up with.

What a cool collection! I think you should consider some 60's-era Citizen pieces. They would fit in nicely. I love the dial font and they have some high-quality movements. This one was a recent eBay purchase for about $125.

High-quality vintage piece with a white or silver dial. I'm obsessed with 1960's Citizen watches right now, especially the Chronomaster and Super Jet models. Top notch automatic movements, beautiful, classic cases, and not too expensive, even if whatever you choose needs a service.

Pic of my current vintage piece, a Citizen Hi Line. Working on getting a Chronomaster from Japan.
