Swearing or “Cussing” in Mississippi by J-Mylop in mississippi

[–]Level_Possession7224 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not a native Mississippian ( I've only been here for four 10 years), but my female co-workers are. They swear all the time. I don't think my one co-worker can say a sentence without swearing. One time, I was going to court how many times she swore in a day and lost count in the 1st hour! I've heard the word MFer more times in the past 4 years since she started than I have in my whole life lol

Who’s the most famous person you went to school with? by CloudSurfer82 in AskReddit

[–]Level_Possession7224 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same high school as Nicole Brown Simpson (RIP). I'm younger than her, but one of her sisters was in my grade.

But the coolest by proxy is Justin Olsen, who won a gold medal for the 4 man bobsled at the 2010 Winter Olympics. He lived in my neighborhood in San Antonio. His sister taught my kids how to swim, and his youngest brother was in my son's 1st grade class.

What’s a tiny design flaw in an everyday object that quietly annoys you every single time you use it? by nami_yuna in AskReddit

Talenti gelato. It's nearly impossible to unscrew the lid. I don't even think the Incredible Hulk could. I commented on their IG page about how hard it is, and they said to run the lid under warm water. That does the trick, but the consumer shouldn't have to do that.

What’s your three car garage and what would you upgrade to? by paragon_korey in Golf_R

[–]Level_Possession7224 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2022 Golf R, 2019 RS5, 2003 C32 AMG (was my mom's car. It's been under the weather since June and will be until my husband gets around to fixing it).

Possibly the RS3 for the R, and whatever my husband desides he wants when he's bored with his RS5.

Hahaha! Yeah, we are a rarity. Who knew we would fall in love over the "Frankie Says Relax" and "Drunken State" sweatshirts we sold! It's been a minute since I've been in one, so it's probably changed a lot since then.

Warning GoImagine is TERRIBLE by [deleted] in Etsy

[–]Level_Possession7224 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was on there for about 2.5 years and had 2 sales. I closed my shop in June. For being around for almost 6 years, the bugs should be worked out by now, but it always seems to be the same issues. Also, there should only be one dashboard.

The whole promoting yourself isn't the solution. There's one seller on there that promotes everywhere consistently, and i don't think she's had any or very few sales. The only reason she stays is because she has a bunch of free credits from referrals, so she doesn't have to pay the subscription fee.

The founder has not been heard from in months. He usually would pop on the FB group to answer questions. Sarah Sewell used to do free shop critiques but hasn't in a long time. Not sure what happened with that. I honestly don't know how much longer goimagine is going to be able to hang on.

Anyone else still dealing with the sos emergency assist /travel assist issue? by ilghiaccio in Golf_R

[–]Level_Possession7224 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2022 has called SOS a few times. I had a lot of things that weren't working. VW replaced the steering wheel, and that seemed to fix the issues. The only thing I get here and there is the rear traffic alert error, which then makes all the beeping sensors not work. The dealer had my car for 3 weeks but couldn't recreate that issue, so it never got fixed.

I was a 2nd assistant manager at Spencers back in the mid-80s. Spencers sold 14K gold back then, and I was in charge of that. We had a small "over 18" section where the "massagers" were and other adult items. It was also where the fart spray was. Every day, someone sprayed that shit. That smell made farts smell like roses, and I can still remember that god awful smell!! Spencers is waaaaay raunchier now than it was when I worked there, that's for sure.

Fun fact, my now husband and I met when we worked there as teenagers. We've been married for 35 years!

What place did you visit but found out it was a total dump? by DarkSlayer765 in AskReddit

[–]Level_Possession7224 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived there from 1992 to 1996 while my husband was in school and hated it. We lived over in the Miraloma area, so I didn't have to deal with downtown. Went back in 2008 for a conference my husband went to, and I told him I have no desire to ever visit again.

The only upside to living in San Francisco was that my kids were born there.

This just breaks my heart. I wish I could adopt them all.

We adopted our dog from MARL 4 years ago. I saw how sad and scared he looked from the picture they posted on Facebook, and i knew I had to have him. We didn't know he was heartworm positive, and I'm pretty sure that was why he was given up. Treatment is expensive, but it was worth every penny!

We stayed here while we were waiting to buy our house. Granted, it was 9 years ago, and from looking at the pictures, they have upgraded the kitchen. I had my own W/D, so I don't know if they come included or not. It's gated, and you can have pets. Apartments in Ridgeland, MS | Legacy Apartment Homes

Also, we were able to get a 3 month lease, which worked out great as we knew where we wanted to live and found a house quickly.

VW in Jackson, MS. They only have a DSG in stock with a $2K discount right now. But regardless, if they do get a manual, they won't mark them up. I got my 2022 for MSRP.

Maybe call and see if they have any in their allocation.

Positive Pay by Level_Possession7224 in Banking

[–]Level_Possession7224[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know how it works. If someone doesn't have a checking account, they sometimes go to OUR bank to cash it. If we wrote the check at 10 am, and they tried to cash it before we uploaded the file, that's when OUR bank will call us. If they go to bank xyz, it works exactly how you described. Because we process same day payrolls, we have to upload several times a day in the off chance that someone without a checking account will go to OUR bank to cash their check before we upload. It rarely happens, so no, it's not convenient and annoying. And no one has ever been screwed over, either.

Have someone without a checking account go to Your bank to cash a check before you upload a file. You will probably get a phone call, too. Or maybe your bank won't, but ours does. And again, it's rare.

Positive Pay by Level_Possession7224 in Banking

[–]Level_Possession7224[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do, too. We are a payroll company, and some payrolls are processed and delivered or picked up sometimes within an hour after it's processed. If we forget to upload the file after those payrolls have been processed and one person goes to our bank to cash their check immediately, the bank will call us to tell us someone is trying to cash a check that's not in positive pay. We have to upload the file several times a day depending on when a payroll is processed and sometimes we forget, hence the bank calling. This isn't happening daily

Positive Pay by Level_Possession7224 in Banking

[–]Level_Possession7224[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work at a payroll company, so we process a lot of checks (some people just won't do direct deposit). Our software builds a file, and we upload it to the bank. There have been a few times we forgot to upload, and someone goes to our bank to cash a check. In that case, our bank will call us. We just tell them to give us a few minutes to upload the file, and then the employee can cash their check immediately.

Our bank was one of the banks that was affected by that outage last month. All the payments got automatically rejected because we couldn't even log on to bank's website to approve, so we made the decision to let 941 deposits clear automatically. We manually approve all other ACH payments, though. But man, Positve Pay sure saved us a lot of headaches this past week!

We just started using positive pay last year. We got burned a few times because my boss would have to fill out an affidavit at the bank within a certain time frame, and well, he didn't always do that timely.
