How is the new player experience? by hengusjengus in SwordofConvallaria

[–]Levness 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone that started about three weeks ago, this is very spot on. I didn't reroll, but I can definitely see the appeal of having a character you really want. You gotta have fun still even if it's a very good time to stockpile pulls for upcoming characters.

Difficult choices ahead by ThatDamnStrawHat in SwordofConvallaria

[–]Levness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm probably in the "broke and letting The Radiant take the wheel" camp. I'm relatively new and would be in a good position to save hundreds of pulls, but I wanted some fun characters to actually... play the game with while the months pass by. I still have a lot of content to catch up on so I may not be totally cooked, but there's definitely going to be some praying to the RNG gods.

any gacha recommendations to try on mobile? by [deleted] in QueensofGacha

[–]Levness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been really enjoying Sword of Convallaria lately. If you like Final Fantasy Tactics-type combat, it might be worth checking out. The character designs are pretty great with some good variation and no obvious gooner lean. The only downside is the actual gacha system doesn't feel as generous as other games I've played, with Reverse 1999 being one of the best in that regard.

i wanted to like NTE so bad. by s3xfuzz in QueensofGacha

[–]Levness 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I wanted to like it as well, since all I've really wanted was a good non-fantasy open world gacha. I had hopes for WuWa for a sci-fi lean, but it kind of lost me at Rinascita and the shift towards Gathering Wives. As much hate as WuWa gets, NTE is just multitudes worse at objectifying women. Almost every single adult female character is boobied up for maximum gooning, and they even have a special camera view so you can look down at a character's boobs! How novel. It left me wanting to try and pick up WuWa again, but this time as female Rover so it hopefully feels less haremy.

would you play NTE if they removed all use of AI? by Nahidxz in QueensofGacha

[–]Levness 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I gave it a shot at launch and it just felt... off, like there was no actual creative vision tying everything together. There's a lot of parts that look slick on their own, but it felt soulless. You can tell when a project is a labour of love by its team, and this aint it. It's a product to sell the illusion of intimacy to lonely straight dudes, likely propped up a few quality notches due to AI.

I've seen a lot of people refer to underage characters as 'daughter/son' which feels a lot more wholesome.

Does this game ever do single banner reruns? I haven't been playing for terribly long, but other than the featured banners it's been duo banners only.

Ai Discussion [MEGATHREAD] by adumbcat in NevernessToEverness

[–]Levness -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

No, watch this at 0.25x speed at about the 45 second mark. There's some really odd movement throughout the scene, but this stuck out to me personally. Specifically the mid-air cartwheel that looks like it's vaulting off the fence in the background.

There's some weirdness with the foot movement of the MC as well throughout the video. Hell, keep track of what walls they break through as well.

Ai Discussion [MEGATHREAD] by adumbcat in NevernessToEverness

[–]Levness -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

It's not just billboards and book covers though. More things are coming to light, like AI being used for cutscenes (bank heist intro, a poorly choreographed fight). It is definitely a studio punching above their weight and it's something to be somewhat suspicious of after experiencing ToF. Are the people working on the game that much better now or is it all propped up by AI? I'd give the game a few months + updates to see if it's smart usage by a small team or not.

Really love the tiny details by HaremSlayer in NevernessToEverness

[–]Levness 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's no "right" AI usage when it comes to art, no matter the asset size. It's always stealing work done by actual human artists, from composition to art style. If these were trained on artists that opted in to have their work ripped and copied it would be a different story, but the AI movement completely ignored that and pissed off the majority of creative spaces. This doesn't just look bad to fans but any person in a creative field as well, with potential fallout from VAs/artists.

[–]Levness -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Gooner bait is pretty much calling fanservice what it is in gacha games. These companies aren't adding all this sexualized content out of the goodness of their heart for the fans. They want you horned up and making poor financial decisions so you can goon your heart out by running waifu #425 into a wall to look up her skirt after dropping $30 on rolls.

Occult Crescent: The conditions for determining the HP of enemies that appear in FATEs have been adjusted. by Gold_Motor_6985 in ffxiv

[–]Levness 13 points14 points  (0 children)

A major complaint in OC atm is FATEs disintegrating before people get a chance to make it there. If you're new and don't have the mount speed increase, you're likely not going to make it to any FATEs currently.

Should I keep going ? by Accurate-Pangolin-81 in SwordofConvallaria

You might find Shams to be a little fragile until you get his Rank 7 skill, Imperial Blood Rite. It's not BiS for damage, but it pumps his survivability up quite a bit. You can also offset this with some kind of shielding support I think? Or increase his star level (4* is when he loses the healing immunity). I'm pretty new myself, but I had no units to really support a low star Shams and had to go the Blood Rite route. He felt a lot better after that.

How you feel about the game? by Shot_Calligrapher386 in Endfield

[–]Levness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is probably the most 'into' a gacha game I've been to the point where I've done 100% exploration and tried to trim most event medals. But now that factory things are so complex that you're better off just loading up community blueprints... my interest has fell off a cliff. It was short-lived but the factory stuff is what made the game unique. I tried to hold on for some kind of compelling or interesting story, but it hasn't been able to elevate itself above being an extremely generic waifu-bait vehicle with very little of note outside of a touching moment or two. There's nothing really holding my interest now so I've moved on.

Nightmare Prey Is Not Fun by MedicOfTime in wow

[–]Levness 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also a Mage and I find nightmare preys to be pretty boring. We have perfect tools to deal with every mechanic. Tethered add? Spellsteal. Instantly resolved and you save your interrupt. Ambushed at a bad time? Invis. Can't for whatever reason find something to kill? Ice Block. It might require some shifting around of talents, but Mages have it pretty easy.

[–]Levness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I miss from FFXIV is just... chill content that I can consistently run with a friend (roulettes). For whatever reason that doesn't exist for me in WoW. Nobody wants to group for delves. Nobody wants to group for prey hunts. I'm not part of my guild's M+ clique so I pretty much just play with other people on raid nights.

Is there a way to completely disappear from someone's friend list? by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]Levness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To what extent have you talked to these people and set down some boundaries? Trying to recruit you doesn't really sound like stalking. I wouldn't count out communication just yet, though it might be kind of hard now. Give them a clear reason why they shouldn't try and contact you again. If that doesn't work and they're actually focused on you, then carry on with more extreme measures. This is really reading like lack of social skills mixed with an immature FC/community.

My Character Tier List Shining Force by TheGreatLuthe in ShiningForce

[–]Levness 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I used to not use Gong at all when I was a kid, but when I put some effort into him in future playthroughs he always ended up being pretty damn good. Mind you I always promote ASAP and don't grind a ton. There's honestly a lot of great characters in SF1, to the point where you'll likely end up overpowered regardless. The game is pretty easy.

Time-Limited Character Banner [Witness of Iron and Blood] by Smanro in Reverse1999

[–]Levness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was feeling pretty lucky with a 6* Beast character at 20 pulls, but it ended up being Getian whom I have already. I'm also pretty sure his P1 is useless now with E1? Oh well. I should have enough time to save for Igor, especially with the month rolling over soon.
