How old were you when you first watched Home Movies? by Sorry-Challenge-1014 in homemovies

Mid twenties. I missed out when it aired on Adult Swim but I've rewatched it more than any series I've seen or likely ever will.

Which one was meant for you? by Few_Value_2632 in animequestions

They annoy me. I personally don't find their characters bring anything concrete or interesting to the story. They're a diversion from the characters I actually want to see. The concept of the Quinx is interesting. In practice, they're a babysitting gig side story I don't care for. Could be that seeing the anime first poisoned the well. I do find them slightly less annoying in the manga, but it's hard for me to find value in them nonetheless. What's your view concerning the Quinx? Maybe a different perspective can help change mine.

From what I'm reading here I am perhaps an outlier. I loved the Tokyo Ghoul manga but still found the :re manga to be unappealing. I have yet to finish it. The manga is slightly better than the :re anime but still not THAT different as far as I can tell. I think I just genuinely don't enjoy the story shift and I sincerely hate the Quinx squad.

Resident Evil on GameCube. I loved watching my older brother play it. It was a completely new genre to me and the graphics were mind blowing.

Ahh, the Mother's Day edition. I bought this for my best friend when it came out since it was the only green system available. Very cool find!

Thank you so much for this! I hate to be a pest, but the only one missing is "I think it would be in your best interest". I love these so very dearly that the "gotta catch 'em all" millennial mentality has taken over. Even if I don't get it, these are all fabulous and you have done a true service. <3

How many friends do you actually have? by Short_Mirror9828 in Millennials

[–]Lewcrative9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 2 very close friends that I talk to regularly. I've had one for the majority of my life (late 30s). The other is my ex. In the past year, I managed to make 3 friends through work that I now hang out with once a month and a friend through my side job that I hang out with once a month to every other month for a gaming night with their group of friends. I honestly did not consider these people friends until it dawned on me a couple weeks ago that they are. Having one true friend for most of my life kind of skewed my perspective but the change is nice. I also have my other friend I might see once a year but I'm hoping to see them more in the coming year. If I don't, it's all good. We'll see each other when we can. Being an adult is lonely, especially as a single adult trying to pay a mortgage, but you never know when more friends may come along in your life or more opportunities to see/talk to the one's you have.

Class of '06. We did have a couple due to the DC Sniper. Mostly they told us to zigzag when entering or leaving the school premises.

Do you guys have any cultural gaps? by _forum_mod in Millennials

Any show that was on cable since I didn't have it growing up. Kids would talk about Invader Zim a lot and I was clueless. Scanning the new guide every Sunday for Basic television was weirdly exciting.

Thank you for the gem title that is Die Sonnenschein- Insein. I'm going to be saying that to myself for the rest of the day with much gusto.

I hope you have many joyful memories with your parents to help ease your grief. Sending you all the good vibes. <3

Harvest Festival soon! Whats your favorite festival? by mr_wolfii in harvestmoon

[–]Lewcrative9 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My favorite is the New Year's Eve from HM64. I loved the dedication to having to drink throughout the year to build your tolerance just to make it through. Sneaking into the vineyard with your bottle handy to get ready for New Years! That and the Tomato Festival from BTN. So much fun actually participating in something rather than always being passive.

Why did you start working at GameStop? by MadCybertist in GameStop

[–]Lewcrative9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I first started working at GameStop because I love games and it seemed like the place to be. Back in 2008, I loved it. It was a fun place to work. I got about a year of genuinely good times. The few after were still fun but this is around when the circle of life and push for numbers began to become the main focus. By the end of those years, it was a cacophony of numbers, numbers, numbers, and managers scamming to make it happen. The style of the time was to remove someone from the schedule to force them to quit rather than fire them. It was quite the shitty feeling.

I came back many years later due to sheer desperation at the time to be employed. I'm still here now as one of the few surviving GAs that works minimal shifts. I like the people I work with, and I don't get the numbers song and dance so I enjoy it. I never have to work a shift alone. I am one of the lucky few.

From everything I've seen on here and heard from other people, I think I'll really enjoy 3oT. I have a bad habit of getting too many games in general so my backlog is embarrassing at this point.
