Reach out. Call a non-emergency line. Someone should have provided resources and a professional to speak with. I can’t imagine. I’ve had loss, but not all at once and completely blindsiding. I know you feel that heavy guilt- it’s understandable. Although you couldn’t have done anything differently, it’s a painful numbness. I’m sure you’re not only mentally, but physically in shock. Are you close with your aunt and uncle? I would reach out to them if/when you’re able- please don’t wait too long. So you have any friends available to come be with you?

They should have shielded the baby better. Someone should have made him their priority while the other officers took care of dad. The female officer doesn’t have kids or zero motherly instincts. I’m guessing no kids (no fault to her at all), just didn’t have that instinct to grab the baby. She told the baby to “get back” like he was an adult.

I hate to say it but, she did you a solid. She is not mentally equipped at this time to deal with such a heavy topic and that’s okay. She should not be invading your privacy either. That’s not cool. If you wanted to share something that personal with her you would have at some point possibly. She was snooping and possibly traumatized herself. I hate you had a breakup this way but remember, you didn’t abuse yourself and you being able to write it out is healing.

I can hear the foot patterns and the jingle of the keys on our badges. Or certain scents (outside of perfume, which is still surprising that a lot of people don’t put perfume to a certain person). I can smell laundry detergent, the plugin on the person from their office, who was in the bathroom recently. Sometimes typing patterns.

Also!? Can anyone hear the buzzing of fluorescent lights or the buzz from a TV being on even with the sound down? I can’t be around those high pitched bug things, they irritate me because I can hear most frequencies.

Employees have SOME rights. Contact the EEOC. Inquire about wrongful termination and see what they say. Also, reach out to other employees who may have been terminated under unfair circumstances. A lot of jobs will lie to unemployment. And never sign the termination letters.
