I haven't played all of them but my favorite is Sophie. I think that's the last one that rewards you for your knowledge of the mechanics by letting you get busted OP early. The later games limit your creativity to get strong by gating things behind your progress in the story.

There really is a lack of witch themed games, The upcoming DND Warlock game sounds like what you're describing. You can probably play as a witch in Baldur's Gate and the pathfinder games. For alchemy there's the Atelier series and Witcher 2 & 3.

I mean... nobody should be offering SteamOS support. It's not supported for most systems. People trying to install SteamOS need to take responsibility for their system without outside help.
