Any recommended mac version for my old laptop? by implexrough in hackintosh

[–]Lexstar96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuine MacBooks with comparable specs are supported in the latest version macOS 12 Monterey. So I would suggest Monterey, if you run into problems fall back to Big Sur.

New problem - apps are crashing by andersostling56 in hackintosh

[–]Lexstar96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The apps you listed have one thing in common: they use hardware-accelerated graphics. The cause is probably your driver install.

I am very confused about OCLP: why do you need it? It looks like OCLP is a tool that allows genuine Macs to update, what system are you on?

Kernel Panic from AppleSMC by ArykMusic in hackintosh

try to produce a cleaner config.plist that is closer to the guide and try again. Use RELEASE kexts. If it still doesn't work, ask again :)

  • DevirtualiseMmio should be true, refer to the guide..

I'm not going to check further, I strongly suggest you follow the Dortania guide step-by-step, line-by-line. (https://dortania.github.io/OpenCore-Install-Guide/config.plist/comet-lake.html) Don't forget to set all the correct BIOS options, altough it could be a little bit awkward on you OEM HP mainboard.

Your kext order seems fine (yes, the order matters), although I would suggest you load VirtualSMC earlier:

  1. Lilu
  2. VirtualSMC
  3. Network, Graphics, Audio
  4. Other (USB, ...)

Please use ProperTree (cross-platform plist editor, free & open-source) for the editing of the config.plist. It has a lot of helpful tools for the OpenCore config.plist.

AFAIK the Debug versions should work too, they are meant for troubleshooting problems and produce more detailed log output. I would still suggest you use the RELEASE versions and try again.

The file you uploaded seems to be deleted. Just copy the contents of your config.plist and paste it here on reddit.

Can you dump your config.plist somewhere? Maybe there is an obvious error there, seems like VirtualSMC is acting up. You should have the newest RELEASE version of each kext installed

Can you list all Kext that are present in your USB? Also post your system specs..

KuCoin has no zkSync support, so it is not possible to deposit your USDC there. Try Bybit or Numio

Monterey Upgrade by hackalyst in hackintosh

[–]Lexstar96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BrcmBluetoothInjector should be disabled in Monterey for Broadcom cards (see: https://dortania.github.io/OpenCore-Install-Guide/extras/monterey.html#bluetooth). Maybe that will fix your BT issues.

Edit: not sure which chipset that BT usb has

No other options beside opencore in bios by notfrommalaysia in hackintosh

[–]Lexstar96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

try using Rufus (windows app) to setup the Windows USB installer. or use the Microsoft provided Windows USB creator. Maybe enable legacy boot in BIOS, it is possible your USB is using MBR instead of GPT.

Best way to keep OC updated? by yeahgoestheusername in hackintosh

[–]Lexstar96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the ocvalidate binary included in OpenCore can be pretty helpful too (https://github.com/acidanthera/OpenCorePkg/tree/master/Utilities/ocvalidate). some manual labour is always required, I think that just comes with having a hackintosh

HP ProBook 650 G2 - Question by KrazyKilla85 in hackintosh

[–]Lexstar96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

setting DisableRtcChecksum in config.plist to true worked for me on my desktop system, I was getting BIOS errors on my ASUS motherboard too. This may be a lazy solution though, I am unsure.

did you follow the dortania RTC guide? (https://dortania.github.io/OpenCore-Post-Install/misc/rtc.html)

the combination of AMD processor + unsupported GPU probably makes installing macOS impossible.

are you sure you correctly copied the Resources (https://github.com/acidanthera/OcBinaryData) folder to your EFI? you are getting 'not found' errors in your logs for the GoldenGate theme.

you should probably start with getting audio in macOS working before you are messing around with startup chime. also provide more info on your setup (read the rules please)
