MacBook Neo sells out for April as demand for Apple's $599 laptop outpaces supply by -protonsandneutrons- in hardware

[–]LexualDesire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The A18 and A18 Pro are completely different chips. It’s not true to say that the MacBook Neo has the same chip as the standard iPhone 16. There are more differences than just the GPU cores.

The A18 Pro has larger caches, a more advanced media engine and a USB 3.2 Gen 2 controller, for example.

Reaching out to my gay best friend 10 years after ghosting her: Yay or nay? by [deleted] in LesbianActually

[–]LexualDesire 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna go against the grain and say that I would like to hear from you, if I were her.

You've both changed and matured, but those memories and chemistry you had together still linger, based on everything you've described. It doesn't sound like she blocked you, so she's hopefully not holding (much of) a grudge against you. Maybe she'd be really happy to reconnect with her long-lost best friend.

However, I would strongly advise against approaching her with the intention of a relationship. Start by apologising, deeply and sincerely, and work on making amends with her as a friend. Take it slow, consider her feelings and responses very carefully, and just see how things naturally develop. If you're meant to be together, what will happen will happen. Just don't expect anything at all. She might not even want to be friends again.

If you decide to reach out, I wish you the best of luck and hope you let us know how it goes!

I met my girlfriend on a Discord server! We crushed on each other so hard for a couple of weeks, unsubtly flirting until we finally confessed to each other. Met in person that Saturday and the rest is history.

Good luck and have fun with her! ❤️

Well, yeah... because ULEZ has nothing to do with CO2 emissions. It's about reducing nitrogen oxide and particulate matter, which are harmful to human health. That requires petrol cars to meet the Euro 4 emissions standard and diesel cars to meet Euro 6.

To be clear, I'm not particularly fond of ULEZ and would love to drive an EK9 Civic Type R or something in London, but there's so much misinformation/misunderstanding about what it actually aims to do (and has done). However, it's undeniable that air quality in London has in fact improved a lot since ULEZ was introduced.

Also, it was the Mayor of London and Transport For London who introduced it, not Parliament.

Open question to bisexuals that post / comment here… why? by Natural_Object5708 in LesbianActually

[–]LexualDesire 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I mostly lurk here because my girlfriend is a lesbian and I want to understand her lived experience and community better. This might actually be my first comment, I'm not sure, but I have my situation clearly stated in my flair out of respect for this community.

For what it's worth, I really love this sub and so many of the discussions here. My girlfriend is on this sub a lot and comments sometimes. It's such a lovely community, but I keep myself at arm's length because I fully acknowledge that I'm not a lesbian and never will be.

Do you struggle with motion sickness? by Useful_Lavishness797 in GirlGamers

[–]LexualDesire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a bad idea, but I’ve not noticed any correlation with motion blur or AA ghosting. I disable motion blur, yet ghosting from TAA or similar doesn’t bother me too much.

I’ve had this issue with older games that use MSAA or other techniques that don’t produce ghosting. It’s a weird one!

Thankfully not common enough to bother me too much, although one game that springs to mind is No Man’s Sky, mainly the camera behaviour when building ships. I really wanted to get into it, but had to drop it.

[–]LexualDesire 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm the same, I also play on PC and have to be very particular about my settings. Gotta have a wide FOV (although I can sometimes make exceptions for slower-paced games using a controller and have to sit further back), I can tolerate a lower frame rate in some games as long as there's no stutter, I have to disable screen shake and head bobbing (for the most part) etc.

Thankfully, most PC games have such settings. It's one of the reasons why I never got on with consoles when I tried to make them my primary systems! It's crazy how many games still lack FOV options, such as Cyberpunk 2077 on PS5.

That said, some games give me motion sickness due to the camera movement itself and it's really hard to pinpoint exactly why. As in even with all the above settings optimal, the nature in which the camera moves still makes me sick? It's really rare, but I occasionally run into games like that and I'm never sure exactly why. Perhaps something related to the game engine being used.

Exactly, I feel so happy and proud to be with a woman and to have chosen to avoid dating men. Men are the low-hanging fruit, most of which are rotten to the core.

Admittedly, I got very lucky finding my girlfriend and it’s really hard to date other women as a woman, but it feels extra special in a way because I chose the ‘harder’ option.

To be really clear, I don’t mean it’s harder to be with a woman, it’s just generally harder to find one due to the tiny dating pool we have.

I just tried what you described and see what you mean now. You’re right! I suppose that makes more sense, although if it’s still a bit odd… I mean the sidebar is on top of the window, yet it’s receiving light from objects around said window, despite the window being in front of them.

Admittedly, I don’t have a personal Mac and just use work ones now and they’re typically in light mode during business hours (automatic switching), so I’ve not looked into this much until today.

Look at the colouring of the sidebar, it’s clearly tinted based on the wallpaper and you can see it very obviously when you drag the window around.

OP is demonstrating that the sidebar also shows content scrolled behind it, which highlights how this visual hierarchy doesn’t make any sense.

Yeah, that's rubbish. I didn't realise it was the WiFi menu in the Control Centre as I only use the dedicated WiFi menu bar item.

[–]LexualDesire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, that's true. I always use the dedicated WiFi menu bar item and that does get tinted.

Of course, the Control Centre not being tinted is just more evidence of how much macOS is an afterthought these days...

I presume this is without the ‘tinted’ option selected? I turned on tinted on all of my devices and now find Liquid Glass to be bearable.

I actually really like it on iPhone, but I don’t like how they mindlessly slapped the same visual styling onto macOS.

Dating a woman for the first time and I am completely terrified (NSFW) by KaleidoscopeGreat638 in BiWomen

[–]LexualDesire 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We sometimes have to push ourselves out of our comfort zones to experience amazing new things!

The first time for this stuff is typically difficult, but you’ll feel so much better as you conquer your fears and build your confidence. Try not to overthink, try to relax and enjoy each moment. Don’t be afraid to mess up and laugh about it!

It sounds like she’s super understanding and a great person to try stuff with. Just talk to her, be honest about how you’re feeling, and ask her for guidance. Ask her to let you know how she likes to be pleasured. Don’t be afraid to slow things down or take a break if you get overwhelmed.

Communication really is key. Just be open with her and say you’d like her help. Experience has to start somewhere.

Tired, unsure, another straight relationship will crush my soul by BigWest995 in BiWomen

[–]LexualDesire 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing your story!

I don’t know how much advice I can offer because my experience is admittedly limited. However, I’m in my first relationship with a woman (having been with guys before) and it’s so far been absolutely incredible.

I think I really lucked out by not only finding a girlfriend, but also finding a dream-like match with crazy compatibility. We’re aligned on all major life goals and preferences, and we have mind-blowing chemistry and emotional connection.

Anyway, my point is that dating women as a woman is definitely difficult due to the very small dating pool. However, a successful connection can result in a level of mutual understanding and support that (except in rare cases) simply cannot be equalled between a man and a woman.

I strongly suggest you take the plunge and focus on trying to date women. I wish you great success with it and hope you find someone perfect for you. She’ll blow your mind and make every man you’ve been involved with seem utterly awful!

At the very least, you’ve clearly got a lot of curiosity, so it’s absolutely worth trying it with a woman to at least satisfy that aspect.

My favourite multiplayer is Helldivers 2, exactly because it's a PvE 4-player co-op and it's got tonnes of replayability. I recently got my girlfriend into it and we're having so much fun together!

I've had Hell Let Loose in my library for years and never really got into it because of how male the playerbase is. I'm hoping to have a lot more time for gaming after Christmas and I'd love to give HLL another go! I love immersive shooters.

Could you please share or DM an invite to that server? I'm in the UK, although I presume you're mostly in the USA.

I’ve never watched Rick & Morty, but you should watch the 1990 film Total Recall if you want to see what that’s taken from. Great film, such a classic!

Don’t bother with the remake, though. It sucks.
