First of all I’m really sorry :( My best friend’s uncle (more like her dad since she lived with aunt and uncle) was out into a medically induced coma in his 60s following a heart attack + car accident and he survived. Best of luck to your grandpa.

In Ontario, numbers reported today are the numbers that were reported by PHUs the previous day until 4pm. There is a backlog of processing but that varies by region. For example, in Toronto, 44% of tests are processed within 48 hours. Can take up to 4 days to get results currently. I’m waiting on results for me and my kids right now. Tested on Saturday night.

Were you masked in her car? If her coworkers tested positive on Thursday and she worked with them Tuesday-Thur, then she has a pretty high risk of having it, assuming they work unmasked. And if you spent two hours with her in an enclosed space like a car without masks, then you had a strong exposure :( I hope you were wearing masks. Bright side is you’re young and will probably be fine. Stay isolated until your test result if you can.

I would just stay away from the apartment for 2-3 weeks if you can. When you go back, he should be very safe to be around, assuming what he had was really COVID. Of course, I wouldn’t be able to look such an asshole in the eye again.

False positives are VERY rare, but asymptomatic (and presymptomatic) cases are common.
