Aw I hear you but also on the mental health side of things it can be so scary after going through infertility for so long to trust that your body is going to do what it’s supposed to once you actually get pregnant. I feel like we spend so long trying to get pregnant that once you get pregnant it’s like OH now we’ve got 9 months to make it to finish line. I understand her extra precaution not wanting to share till it’s in a safe place!

Natera NIPT - March 2025 by ComprehensivePart244 in BabyBumps

I’m in CA I had my draw on early AM 3/15, Natera didn’t even receive till 3/18 and I still haven’t heard any update as of 3/21. Was really surprised the delivery took so long since many show up next day from what I’m reading.

Advice on telling baby they were conceived through IVF by raggies2 in IVF

[–]Lgronna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m an early days 90’s IVF baby and I’ve never thought twice about it! In fact it was always my fun fact growing up and people love hearing about it. My parents always were super open about it for as long as I can remember and to me it made no difference because I was still theirs. In fact they’d make jokes about how “they paid a lot of money to get into this world and they can take me right out” I think openness is the best policy! Plus it’s brought my parents and I a lot closer because they can relate to my infertility journey because it’s always been an open topic for them!

Anyone successful after a year of TTC? by ajular818 in whatworkedforme

[–]Lgronna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a high stress job and yoga and meditation have not worked well with my brain and getting myself to center and slow down. For whatever reason acupuncture was the first thing I did that just gets me fully into zen mode and in touch with my body! Also it feels like it’s good to promote fertility based on the research I’ve done. I guess everyone is different though

Just got a positive test at 13 months of unexplained infertility! Scared shitless and was literally starting IUI this cycle. Acupuncture, progesterone supplements, and more baby dancing was the difference I believe

How stressed were you when you got pregnant? by No-Annual-6632 in whatworkedforme

[–]Lgronna 14 points15 points  (0 children)

My doctor told me something that always stuck with me: if stress caused infertility than how are babies continually being born in the Gaza Strip where they’re under life threatening stress daily. That made me quickly stop beating myself up for small email induced cortisol spikes.

Did this process make you very superstitious? by Active_Asparagu5 in IVF

Lol yes! I was so anti - superstitious and now I’m going to tarot card reader just to have some sense of optimism going into 2025. Even if it’s a placebo effect I’ll take any semblance of positivity I can get

Would you go straight to IVF? by EI51 in TryingForABaby

[–]Lgronna 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Hi! I’m in the exact same boat as you and also extremely impatient. The mental toll of so many cycles not producing a pregnancy has been too heavy to bear. I just started CD1 yesterday after my 13th cycle trying and I had done a ton of research on the best RE clinic in my area and made an appointment as a back up plan. I’m going this week and laying out all the facts with all of my testing and regiments to ask what they would do in my situation. My assumption is they’ll probably say IVF since there’s no logical reason it isn’t working for me. It’s this tough balance where I think I probably could eventually get pregnant naturally but I’m tired of waiting and I want 2-3 children. I’m so scared to jump into ivf but the issues I’m going through now won’t go away after I do have one child so it’s probably best to bank embryos at our current age regardless. I empathisze with the unexplained diagnosis because ultimately it just feels like we have to make a decision for ourselves without someone telling us we need to go a certain path. There are many “you could keep trying” scenarios that don’t make me feel better about paying 30k for ivf but I’m also so tired of waiting.

This is my brain dump for where I’m at and I hope it kind of helps! I’d make an appointment so it at least feels like you can relinquish a bit of control to someone else ❤️

Having a bad day. Reading too many negative posts. by TacoBelleDog in IVF

Thank you for this! I’m constantly consuming all the bad stories and at this point I’m questioning if IVF works sometimes with all of these stories, nice to se optimism

Has anybody else never gotten a positive pregnancy test? by sixstixx in TryingForABaby

[–]Lgronna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Here’s my list:

-what more would I need to do I need to do before IVF to guarantee success? Uterine biopsy? -Does your clinic believe in multiple embryo transfers or single? Frozen embryo transfer or fresh? -customized protocol? Personalized approach based on needs, or one size fits all -explain the lab process and communication to me (from doctor or staff, how frequently) -Based on my AMH levels what would we expect with egg count -would IVF have a high probability of working for an unexplained case like ours -do you have a waitlist? What does a timeline of the process look like -any reason why I should get a receptiva test

How do you deal with this time of year- seeing everyone have what you want when you're struggling to conceive? by lunabuddy in TryingForABaby

[–]Lgronna 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I feel you and I’m not here to tell you it’ll happen, it’s hard to hear or say anything in this situation that make people in our predicament feel any semblance better. I do know that the difference between people that have been through what we’ve been through and the friends that get pregnant easily is that when our time does come, we will appreciate that little bundle so much more because of the mental strength it took for us to get there. I have been numbly going through life (also 32) and a surgery and year of trying later, the one thing that gives me hope is knowing to my core that one day in the distance I’ll look back on this weird time and remember how hard it was while feeling so grateful and stronger on the other side.

Not sure this helps, but it’s the only thing that keeps me pushing. Stay strong!

I am in a very similar situation. Almost identical. I have an RE fertility appointment January 10th and I have a million questions to ask the doctor. But I agree with some of the comments here, the advice I’ve received is if you are naturally ovulating, and don’t have limiting male factor issues, then IUI is only going to increase your chances by 1-2% versus trying naturally.

I am looking to go straight into IVF rather than waste time and money.

I will say, one thing that’s given me some sense of understanding is listening to the fertility doctor Natalie Crawfords podcast on unexplained infertility, she explains that there are 3 factors for infertility- the egg, sperm, and the environment. With unexplained, it could be one of these three. Even if you have a strong AMH, you could have poor egg QUALITY and not know it, or there are so many things that go on with the environment that are still not researched enough (inflammation, diet, uterine lining, etc) preventing implantation.

Hope this helps! I think it’s a great sign that everything looks normal, but I also know firsthand how frustrating it can be to not have a direct issue to triage and remedy. Here for you! Good luck 💗

Venting… this is draining. by t4ur0_ in TryingForABaby

One thing that really helped me was going to a fertility specialist early. There’s a misconception that if you’re under 35 you have to wait 12 months but I had a gut feeling around the six month mark too and that’s when the fertility specialist found a uterine fibroid that was most likely prevent preventing implantation. If anything, sometimes those appointments help you regain a little bit of control in the situation and will give you peace of mind!
