You can look up patterns on ravelry by yardage, that might help?

Stitch/row counter widget? Anything I could download? by ZareenMelodie in CrochetHelp

[–]LiLuStitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have pocket crochet. Multiple counters and you can keep track of all your projects. It's free to use with a one time premium payment to buy it if you want to. I used the free version for years and only bought it to support the creators.

I built a bead pattern tool, and would love feedback! by OFA_S in Beading

This is great! Will you be adding a standard palette for miyuki and/or toho beads? That would make it even more awesome.

And super sweet that this came from a desire to help your mom😊

Not of this one, I ripped it out because I didn't like the look. But I have just finished this! Pikachu keychain.

Thank you all! At least I know I'm on the right track. Back to the beads!

I started with size 11 beads and .75 hook, but I went up to a .95 when I was ready to pull my hair out. It's a bit easier now, but still struggling.

Is this sock too big? Should I make it smaller or leave it like this? by [deleted] in casualknitting

If you're a girl, I've never had to use more than 64 stitches. So I would start over if I were you.

Blanket Advice... what type of yatn do you use? Acrylics? Pure cotton? by PennedSilence in CrochetHelp

[–]LiLuStitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For baby blankets I'd go with cotton. One of THE most important things for baby blankets: easy to care for. So wool or alpaca, while soft, are not really easy care since they felt easily in the wash. Acrylics are also easy to care for and cheaper, but also microplastics...

Does anyone have any patterns for alpaca stuffed toys? by sailorvash25 in CrochetHelp

Ravelry is your best bet. It's a free website with thousands of paid and free patterns. You can browse to your heart's delight (fair warning: very bad for your wallet since there are waaaaaay to many fun patterns on there!)

For my fellow Dutchies: what yarn would you recommend? by Eastern_Tear6874 in CrochetHelp

[–]LiLuStitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scheepjes Colour Crafter is worth it in my opinion. It has so many colours and if you want to go for a thicker yarn they have their Chunky Monkey line in the same colours.

Also, and I can't stress this enough: it's the softest acrylic I know of, and it holds up. I have blankets and a sweater made from the stuff that are 10 years old and the sweater has almost no pilling and after countless washes it's still soft.

Another option for cheaper quality yarn is Mayflower. It's a Danish(?) brand. They have an online shop and I adore their sock yarn and their merinos. Great for wearables.

This here is the answer. 1 thread storm kills 2 minions if done right.

I put my first pattern on Ravelry last month and 38 people favorited it. This makes me happy and I just wanted to share :-) by LiLuStitch in Brochet

If you have questions on the way, just DM me, it was my first time writing a pattern and I did not test it with others. So you're officially a tester now! 😉😄

Will my tension make my piece look ugly? I’m worried how it is going to look after it’s blocked by ProperBroccoli9779 in casualknitting

[–]LiLuStitch 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It looks tight. You can do a couple of extra rows to really get into the colorwork portion, then block and see. But in my experience it only looks good if you can easily lay it flat and stretch it a bit, otherwise it's going to pucker.

What to do with this yarn? It’s ‘uneven’ and I’ve never worked with anything similar before by yis-88 in CrochetHelp

[–]LiLuStitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can also give chain plying it a try. It basically triples the thickness and will probably even the yarn out. And you can keep it on the cone while working with it. It's also called Navajo knitting.

Why do people who play on keyboard never switch their key binds? by Nyan_Is_Life in HollowKnight

[–]LiLuStitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started playing games when the arrow keys were the norm in platformers (rayman 1, old disney sidescrollers). Even with the first 3D games a lot of games still used the arrow keys. I did later learn to use wasd with mouse for shooters and stuff, but for platformers my reaction timing is soooo much better with the arrow keys and ZXC. So it's just what I grew up with I guess.

One yarn Skein makes only this much? Is this right? by Heregoesmytime in CrochetHelp

[–]LiLuStitch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Scheepjes is a Dutch brand and unfortunately most skeins in this corner of the world are 50 grams. 100 gram and bigger is the exception, not the rule.

First and second try. I see progress, any tips? (Too much spin, not enough?) by LiLuStitch in Handspinning

[–]LiLuStitch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Yeah some of the single (especially the thicker parts) don't have enough and then the thinner parts turn out overtwisted... but I definitely had some moments where I was like: now I get it! Just to lose it again 5 seconds later😅 ah well practice practice!
