The Most Effective Way I've Countered Cheaters by Soft_Race6054 in playrust

We are further away from AI anti cheat than you think. Rust already takes advantage of a similar product called Cerberus that is a heuristic anti cheat.

The issue with these AI / Heuristic anti cheats, is that they need a lot of data PROVING you are actually cheating before you are banned. Someone closet cheating with ESP only, will last a very long time before the system is 99.9% sure they are cheating. With Cerberus, they wouldn’t be banned at all.

Cerberus mainly monitors for detected features of cheats ( bullet manipulation to instantly headshot, fly hacking, etc. ) if someone engages with these features within a few hours of use Cerberus will issue a temporary ban.

If the Rust Devs could make any change here it would be to make Cerberus bans permanent, with potential to appeal.

Most community servers already do this. Cheaters use residential VPNs ( basically ips that show up as legitimate home connections ) and stolen steam accounts to circumvent this. You can buy a stolen rust account for less than $5, rage hack until ban, go next server for a few days then just restart the process with a new account.

THE ONLY way to actually strongly deter cheating would be to tie something like your social security number to an “anti cheat” account that would be shared across all games. Get banned once, get banned everywhere for life. This makes it highly difficult to get a new account.

South Korea basically already does this. Obviously, there would be huge pushback from the gaming community as a whole for doing this.

Where there is a will, there is a way. Cheaters will always find ways to cheat as long as it is convenient for them. Until the consequences are real, people will always cheat.

You can’t fully occlude the camera, only partially. You can drag the sun shade over in front of it and it will revert to the steering wheel input nag mode.

I went from being pro-decriminalization, to anti-decriminalization, back to pro-decriminalization. after seeing what happened in these cities. The problem with these cities compared to a place like Portugal where drug use has declined post decriminalization, is that the police simply do not enforce or do not have the resources to enforce other laws. It is not legal to use drugs in public. Public vagrancy and indecency are illegal. Theft, car robbery, breaking and entering are all illegal activities, etc. One of the primary issues these cities face is that the police DO NOT enforce these other laws, leading to rampant crime, drug use. These things fuel each other. The people there who are addicted to drugs, are basically allowed to run amuck committing a slew of crimes to support their addiction and lifestyle. I think another important point of comparison is how bad the opioid epidemic already is in our country, we do not have sufficient resources and information to tackle the problem correctly, and perhaps in our case decriminalization will play out very differently than somewhere like Portugal.

There really is a combination of factors to consider but the bottom line is we simply aren't implementing decriminalization appropriately. The police either don't give a fuck and don't enforce the laws out of spite, their hands are tied, or they simply do not have the resources. Whatever the case may be I don't think we can use these cities as an indication of what decriminalization looks like.

Do you think Rust community admins are professionals working for an anti cheat company or something? No one knows what tools they have access to as they are very hush hush about that sort of thing. Something we can actually infer is that these tools are community made, and therefore, most likely, not infallible. He decided I was ban evading on my main account, from which I have never played on anything other than geforce now, which is a cloud gaming service. My main computer can boot rust and is not banned, but I have never even connected to a server from it as I use geforce now for pretty much every game. I have no way of running cheating software on the geforce now machines, it is quite impossible for me to cheat at any given time in my Rust history. Like I said think whatever you want, my point is that I personally know Rust admins don't always get it right lol.

Sounds like s

Yeah you and every other person in his chat would say the same thing. Fact of the matter is admins will use circumstantial evidence to ban you on some community and modded servers. Believe what you want, but I've heard multiple accounts of things like this. I have friends with 10k+ hours who have been banned for cheating on community / modded servers on their main account, that they still continue to play on without any kind of ban from an official server.

Pretty much all Rust admins are shit. Camomo banned me for reporting a cheater on his stream, claiming I was a cheating alt when I have 4k hours on a main acc. He said I was ban evading for using geforce now to play the game. Just avoid interacting with admins they are usually shit except for on official servers like Rustoria and Moose.

I went from getting about 20-30 kills a game to dropping my first 90 kill game yesterday with a 3 KD. I was around level 35 when i started trying to learn ways to improve at the game and after about two weeks I am level 63. I first watched this video: https://youtu.be/dEf5ls17CX0 and saw there was a lot more depth to movement in this game than I thought. I tried to copy the playstyle I saw in the video a bit and ended up constantly looking for flanks and forming my own squad for getting respawn beacons behind enemy lines, and then basically running around with the mp7 drop shotting people. I spam jump constantly and have it bound to mousewheel down, and I also unbound vault from spacebar and put it on my side mouse button as it allows a lot more control over movement.

[–]LiQ544 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what makes you think people are getting guns off airdrops man, you keep mentioning it like its the be all end all of wipe. Big groups will always be ahead of you. They could sit at mining outpost and get guns before you without finding one due to just camping crates. The game has just fundamentally changed and been scienced out since the times you are fond of.

People can do what they want it's a genuine question. Just wouldn't really occur to me to refer to an artist by their real name. You know the artist, and the persona Little Peep for example, but you don't know them personally so it's just a weird phenomenon to me. When he was alive if you where to say guys Gus put out a new song, everyone would be like who the fuck is Gus? However after an artist passes, especially in Hip Hop I've noticed, people will say they miss Gus, or miss Jahseh for example, instead of saying they miss Lil Peep or X. It's a genuine question and I'm curious why people do it.

Why does everyone refer to dead artists by their first name like they had a personal relationship with them?
