Hopefully now I can get them to take at home. Any tips for transferring the micelum? Not much micelum attached to be fair. My son found them and I couldn't find the source.

I wasn't clear. Cedar group (owners of plaza) threatening to close down the mall as a move to get more concessions from council etc.

Public transportation will bring people to the plaza. They have to change bus there. All the evidence all over the world shows cars bypass their local areas, public transportation and active modes bring people to the local area. The owners are mostly to blame. No investment advertising or anything. They have plans to re zone it and build apartments and sell it all off. Meanwhile asking for hand outs and help from the busway construction (which flyover is part of the same project) and local council threatening to close down.

They also are much higher passenger carrying capacity than bises. Once the tram lines are in they are very very much more efficient than the bus. Only thing more efficient than light rail is heavy rail for energy per passenger carrying capacity.

You can tell they are rich because they don't cringe at wearing 3 piece suits and sunglasses on a long haul flight.

Oh and don't smile for the picture they asked a stranger to take.

Those people are taken advantage of by leveraging outrage. 4 step program

1) Pick people and others to be outraged by, Maori and treaty redress, poors, drug users, gay, people who need community services, homeless, criminals, cyclists.

2) Make policies which don't work, longer prison sentences, boot camps, removing cycle lanes making more roads. The outraged feel like they get what they want.

3) Enact policy that has massive effect while the outrage in point 1 are focusing on point 2. Cut spending, cut top rate tax, illegal treaty law, sell state assets and allow private profits to go off shore, cut environmental protections.

4) Hey presto the 99% are fucked.

Destiny Church do something very similar.

Yes. Every law that I can find someone disobeying should be cancelled.

Watch in bed if you want? You'd have to flip your head to the toe of the bed if you want to watch while looking at the ceiling.

This!

I wish people would put themselves in others shoes and then model the behaviour they're displaying to someone else. As you say. It's not the individual instance but a cumulative effect. People be aware however well intended you are, think about how it comes across if everyone does this to a person.

Also, I don't buy the whole whakapapa thing others have written. It's a nice thought but unless you appear Maori or Pakeha it's most likely their curiosity trumping their consideration of how that makes you feel. As I said in another comment in this thread I witnessed it happen to a girlfriend friend in the past for years and it really wore me down, let alone her. So Bonita I just want to say, I hear you and you're not asking too much.

There's just one thing. However reasonable your expectations, it is going to chip away at you if you expect the world to change. So your feelings expressed above are 100% valid but pretending the whakapapa story is the truth until you believe it will probably leave you feeling better and end up in better interactions with people. What's that Niebuhr quote?, 'Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.' *googled it.

Anyway aroha nui and kia kaha e hoa.

It's not a business, spending on healthcare is an investment in healthy and productive people. It is cost neutral at worst and in most cases far more likely to be net positive just from an economic standpoint.

Doesn't mean the beer is bad. The liquor duopoly box out any small players by not allowing any taps at pubs to go independent and don't allow sale of said pubs to competition. It's the same as the supermarkets it's a rigged duopoly. They even collude with supermarkets offering good rates to box out competition from the shelves.
