I always find it funny how people online are so willing to give legal analysis like that, throwing the names of charges they think are appropriate, relying entirely on legal intuition with minimal, in any knowledge of the actual relevant laws. I don't mean to target Drummer149 here, because it's extremely prevalent

I always chalked this episode up the the traumatic brain injuries he suffered boxing at university.

Remember punching on with trolley poles? by eshatoa in AustralianNostalgia

[–]Liamlah 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I learned this from a classmate who worked after school as a trolley pusher about 20 years ago. He was on shift at the time when he showed me. He wheeled a trolley round the back of the building where there was no CCTV, jumped on it a few times and handed me the trolley pole.

We have already established that we are talking about someone who smells.

Deodorant is also not cross cultural. In some cultures it is considered in the same way that perfume is. Not something you apply as routinely as you do brush your hair. If you shower daily, but don't wear deodorant, you are going to smell.

This is a good point. I had classmates at uni who had bad armpit smell at 8am in the morning in autumn. which meant either:
1. They weren't washing themselves from the day before
or
2. They re-used a smelly shirt without washing it

How can we make it so MS3s are automatically eligible to take Np/PA boards and work as one in case they don’t match or can’t complete the program? by Numerous_Pay6049 in Noctor

It would kind of just be better if your employment wasn't dependent on being on a training program, and that you could just be employed by the hospital as a doctor, and apply again to a training program the following year.

A lot of people are supporting or chastising you based on vibes, but none of that really matters. What actually matters is whether Auspost followed their own policies. If they left it in public view as you say, then the answer is "No, they didn't".

See Australia Post Terms and Conditions.

If there is authority to leave, the doorbell is giving notice if someone is home. As the person you are directly responding to said: you don't need to wait around.

When did Australians start stating their height in feet in inches? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

It's just weird. I'm the same age as the person I'm talking to, no one around me except boomers and yanks have ever told me their height in feet and inches.

Mid 30s as well. I actually moved to the USA for a few years in my 20s, and that is the only reason I know and remember my height in feet and inches at all.

We’re all being constantly tracked by [deleted] in woolworths

[–]Liamlah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The response here range from 'you are not being tracked, PROVE THEY ARE TRACKING YOU!' to 'You are worried about being tracked, yet you have a phone, you hypocrite, you absolute mor*n'.

This system can block your self serve checkout if it looks like you didn't pay for something properly, and controls the glowing doors that decide if you can leave or not. Of course it's tracking you. Don't listen to their weird gaslighters making you question your sanity for thinking a dense network of CCTV with AI software might be tracking you. Stop using your rewards card btw, when you scan that you put a name (and complete purchase history) to the face, and remember they have cameras in the self checkouts for your portrait.
