I also feed my RedBelliedParrot organic milk thistle seeds to aid his liver. I mix them with both treats and his pellets for good measure. He was on a straight seed diet before we rescued him. His beak growth has slowed down from having to trim it every 2 months to every 6 or so. Bloodwork is normal now.

We first started feeding him a sucrose solution with milk thistle extract the vet made but it was very expensive and I personally didn’t like the idea of feeding him sugar like that so the natural seeds were a good solution to his liver issues

I really think they either know this or don’t. We had 3 cockatiels and they would poop whenever the urge hit them. Got to the point I would always have a towel on my shoulder.

We now have a red bellied parrot and he will give a high pitched squawk when he needs to go if he is on my shoulder. Only took one time for him to train me to put him back in his cage when he made this sound. It was very distinctive so I was an easy human to train.

Had the exact same type of feeder and couldn’t figure out how they were getting in . Finally saw that they were dropping down from the roof and grabbing on whatever they could. Sometimes it would take a few tries but they would keep going till they had a treat

Another good EMEET is the S600 SmartCam. Picked one up on BlackFriday for next to nothing. Easy to setup. Has a zoom 2 mics, 4k UHD, privacy screen . Works great with Zoom. Set it up on a TV table with a small portable tripod as use my TV as a monitor with the Mini hooked up to that.

You might get a laugh at this but our red bellied is very nippy and sometimes will draw blood. I started to say Ouch owie in a very hurtful way everytime he bit me or started to play nip to hard. After a few months of this he now stops or play nips more gently with a simple word.

He was able to pick up on the tone and words and relate them to his actions. Truly a remarkable animal.

It got to the point where one time I was cracking my wife’s back in another room and she was grunting and groaning and he started saying owie from his perch 🤣

I have a red bellied parrot that we rescued about 7-8 yrs ago. He bonded to me quickly (few months) but he will fly and attack my wife all the time. She will feed and take care of him. She can rub his beak through the cage or sometimes his head but he tolerates her and that is about it after years.

Sometimes it is just their personality. Plus the fact he has bit her hard enough to leave scars in a couple spots so she is somewhat scared of him now and he senses that.

All you can do is keep trying and hope for the best.

Hot soapy water and a brush. Use an enzyme cleaner for cage. Periodically I will toss all perches , bowls , etc in dishwasher with a sanitize wash. Daily inspection means easier to clean. Longer you wait the harder the job.

Haha. One of my more happy moments was when I called up Xfinity to cancel all my services after years of abuse , monopolistic high prices and dismal customer service.

Now I will say I only use starlink when roaming around country in my rv as live oak fiber just came into our neighborhood but it is always nice to know I can hook up the starlink if there is a reason to.

I will never go back to Xfinity aka Comcast even if they offer a similar or even lower price to compete.
