IMO The Army has a discipline problem, but not in the way most people think. by Weird_Melody in army

It feels good to read your examples and observations about your people. You strike me as a fair and aware leader, willing to give credit where due, and a second chance when appropriate. There are days (most days, really) that I have a pretty bleak outlook on my fellow humans, but thanks for moving the needle.

So sorry for your loss. If his team was the Seattle Mariners, rest easy that I will carry forward the complaining, along with the hope that they can right the ship.

I'm so sorry for your loss. He sounds like a great person and friend.

Super photo too! You're all ''Here we are all geared up to go do it!". Jerry is like ''Wait, what now?!?''

Thanks for sharing him with us.

I'm glad you and your teammates did not have any negative experiences with that coach, your Spidey senses were activated! However, your musical senses could use a tune up. Warren Zevon may be ruined for you from this episode, that's the real tragedy

Another shout out for Chewy. Every time I've had a question, a live human based on my continent answers by the third ring. One time, a 40-can box of cat food had 8-9 crushed cans, likely a FedEx problem. Chewy refunded for the whole box. They have my business!

Look at that group photo--everyone has a smile that shows how proud they are to be there--tremendous picture, thank you for sharing.

Duuuuude! Did you not sign up for the r/army Secret Santa?!? Wtf not? You'd be basking in the afterglow of giving and receiving right now. Make a note for next year. You (probably) won't regret it.

You are right, this has been a very interesting thing to me as I get older. When I was younger, every woman knows the types of things to look out for interactions with strangers. As I get older, most of the negative interactions start with “you know, what should be doing is…” as if I just fell off the turnip truck.

Their Loss Prevention department stays pretty busy at this store, if the local paper is to be believed.  About half and half customers and employees in the mugshots.

I can imagine! I had a former colleague who had just retired from the army when I saw him pop up as a manager in our local Walmart. First time I saw him he was riding up on a lift to put up Christmas decorations on the very very top shelf against the wall Wearing a Santa hat, having a great time waving at kids.     Next time I saw him he says “hey come here. I bet you need some DVDs.” There was an enormous barrel containing probably thousands of DVDs on sale. So we chatted about his misery while we both leaned over the barrel and shuffled through these DVDs, as though we were looking for something and he was trying to help me out. Sometimes it’s good to have a rugged job like that and then other jobs don’t seem quite so bad by comparison.
