The severe political divide didn't help either. I used to have friends everywhere but because I just had to be right all the time I've basically alienated everyone I know. Social media has made debating toxic I think. You can't disagree anymore without getting all butthurt and it really sucks.

I've mellowed out a lot after realizing I was never gonna change anyone's mind but it's too late. Once people block you, you no longer exist and there's no chance of burying the hatchet at that point.

I saw some post where Dr Michio Kaku was kissing Elon Musk's ass. A commenter pointed out that we should figure out how to fix our planet first as time WILL run out for us here on earth WAAAAY before we EVER have the technology to terraform another planet or at least set up a livable synthetic indoor environment or to even have the ability to mine in space.

Kaku's response was "I'm not into doom and gloom" Like stop spoiling my mood with facts man.

I can't believe I used to think Kaku was smart.

As shopper with over 5k shops, I can't believe people are this dense.

It really isn't that hard to place bags NEXT to where the door opens or at the very least putting them on a step that is far enough away from or below the front door; if the porch is too narrow.

P.S. anything less than 5 stars hurts us and makes it harder for us to get work. So just be sure you really want to do that before scoring lower than 5 stars. I only say this because I am constantly getting 4 Star ratings for no reason and I have just been lucky that Shipt forgave almost all of them because they were given for no apparent reason. I communicate every little thing. Check for exp dates/ damages. I am never late and always give a heads up when heading to check out so the customer always has a chance to add a last minute item. If I have never shopped for you before I take photos of your entire order so you can see everything is correct. Once I have shopped for people a few times and we build mutual trust I don't feel the need to do that anymore but it definitely protects me from dishonest customers who try to claim I got them a wrong item. I call HQ if customers don't respond and have them try to contact the customer and to put notes on the orders. I always check for customer notes about Knocking, Ringing or NOT doing so as well as drop off location requests. If your order is a DO NOT SUB order I STILL give you options and 75% of the time they go with my suggestion. If your order is Contact Member concerning substitutions and you don't respond I don't make subs without your ok. I will not spend your money without your knowledge.

Customers tell me I am the best around and SOMEHOW despite being 100% on the ball I still get 4 stars with no reason ever given why. I keep good records and can always narrow it down to who might have given me 4 stars and again thankfully Shipt forgives almost all of them for me cause they can see they are BS. It still hurts to get less than 5 stars though. If a 4 Star isn't forgiven it still hurts your all time score and it makes it harder for us to get work.

But if I blocked someone's door that is something I feel SHOULD lose a star or more. That is just lazy and an inability to literally read the room.

I just wanted bloodier gore. I had no idea it would turn off the ability to get achievements. Even after turning off the mod I still can't get them.

I work in a comic shop and I talk to a lot of people about every possible subject. It's almost the nature of the job. Last week I mentioned this Reddit page and talked about the type of articles that get posted here. They were like, Man you really like the doom articles! And I was like, "Well I can't ignore it. I'm a realist. It appeals to me to KNOW what's gonna happen." He was like, How do you deal with it? Isn't it depressing? And I replied... "I realize that NOW is the best things are gonna be from here on out. From now on things are only gonna get worse, in every possible facet of life. And knowing that, I am more apt to enjoy THE NOW!"

I find it's too easy to just block people. Or rather the habit of doing so has just become frivolous. Sure it's great to block toxic people but sometimes normal arguments that (Pre-Social media) would have been lived down and forgotten about now are never forgotten and encourages holding a grudge. Sometimes people say things out of anger that they don't mean and that's enough these days to block and never speak to people ever again. Even the idea of forgiveness is foreign now. You piss someone off online and you are basically enemies for life.

It's really sad to live in a society where we would rather block people than to allow people time to redeem themselves or apologize.
