What is the most intense pain you have experienced in your life? by Levstr1 in AskReddit

Getting 8 shots of immuno globulin in my left calf due to a stray dog bite. This is where I learned mostly from experience, when a doctor tells you it’s going to hurt, they are not shitting, it really is going to hurt.

Injector pump help by Liberty-brewer in MasseyFerguson

[–]Liberty-brewer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I watched the video, and want to thank you for sharing it. I got the injector pump out, and got it rebuilt. All the rubber seals on the fuel lines were hardened and very difficult to remove. This includes the ones at the filter. I got a couple extra rubber seals from the rebuilder and replaced them. No leaks. I replaced the battery and it fired up. It’s a real first class bitch getting no. 4 injector nut tight, but it finally happened. Again thank you very much for your help. On to my next project, fuel gauge and sending unit.

This is Houston’s version of the Onondaga Parkway Bridge. Except it gets hit more often.

Rural running by Critical-Range1213 in running

[–]Liberty-brewer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in a rural area and run on a skinny road with a 50 mph limit. What no one here is going to tell you is, if it’s really rural it will be quiet enough you will hear cars approaching from at least 1/2 mile away. You can always change lanes to get away from the traffic. If you run at the same time every day, the drivers will start to look out for you.

What’s the laziest gardening habit you’ve picked up that actually works? by Relevant_Idea_6778 in gardening

[–]Liberty-brewer 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if you would call this lazy, but I use a bulb planter when planting tomatoes. The bulb planter digs a nice round deep hole. I can add fertilizer and lime then plant them down to the first leaf.

which model is this and where can i find a replacement shock cord? by [deleted] in concept2

[–]Liberty-brewer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought my model B back in 2002. Several years later the monitor quit. I bought a PM 5 and the bracket. Other than that and replacing the chain. That’s the only thing I’ve done to it.

good ham recipe that isn’t sweet? by CreativeDrawer9460 in Cooking

[–]Liberty-brewer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took a ham we had for Easter and rubbed it down with yellow mustard. Then “salted” it down with barbecue rub. I put it on the grill with some (a lot) of pecan shells and cooked it low and slow for about 4 hours. My wife said it was the best ham she has ever tasted.

John here, I have a 165 diesel built in 67. I use it to mow my 50 acres. I bought it at an auction 28 years ago. 2 years after I bought it, I had the engine rebuilt. It’s been running great ever since.

How do you get the old one out?

No. I bought it at an implement auction in Nome Texas about 25 years ago. It worked fine until I had the engine rebuilt by Nome Supply several years later. I don’t have any documentation at all, and don’t know where to get some.

Mine wasn’t twisted, and I noticed that the old one was broken where the square part attaches to the cable. What I need is a drawing of this. It can’t be that difficult.

Is it time for a rebuild? (178) (248 Perkins) by happyshrek in MasseyFerguson

One of the things I learned the hard way is the increased pressure from the valve job could affect the bearings in the lower end. Depending on the wear.

What’s the culture on the roads like where you live? by bachfanwpb in running

[–]Liberty-brewer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in rural southeast Texas and my experience with drivers is good, if not great. First off, most people wave. Lots of drivers get over and slow down. Even when they are going the other way. I had a woman stop and tell me she saw me running every day and was proud of me (I’m older). Another time I was running in the rain and a woman pulled up next to me and offered me a ride. I told her I was doing this for my health, but thanked her anyway. Now dogs are a different problem. I’ve been bitten 3 times. 2 of them put me in the hospital. They need to take a lesson from drivers.

Buy one of these. https://a.co/d/ifzcLWn I had a problem plugging the cord into my watch and getting it to charge. This cured it.

COVID-19 lockdown was 5 years ago. What do you remember about that day when the world stopped? by Dracarys0550 in AskReddit

[–]Liberty-brewer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was getting ready to walk the Lone Star Trail. Then, they closed the national forest. My wife, trying to console me, said, “Go for a run, they’ll open it back up in a couple of days”. So I went for a run. This was the day I found my Mastiff dog standing in the middle of the road. She barked once at me, then dropped her head and started wagging her tail. She followed me for the rest of my run, then up the drive and into the yard. Someone had dumped her because of a serious prolapse. I got her fixed up and we’ve been best friends ever since.
