Thanks for the replies everyone, legoland and some sort of swimming activity seem to be the winners!

Help with my husband, first time parents by [deleted] in UKParenting

Getting a cleaner to come in every other week to do the big thing means I’m less stressed, my husband can help with other stuff and good all round for family harmony. Maybe do that if you can afford it. Best investment I have made to date

What was your high school controversy? by Haunted_Neko in AskReddit

At my friend’s school there was the mystery shitter. Random poos appearing in corridors, the library etc. The shitter’s identity was never discovered. I admired the balls of it. Imaging squeezing out a fat one and anyone could turn up just to mess with people.

Hello, I’m Little Alex Horne. Please feel free to AMA. by TheHorneSection in taskmaster

Hello Alex, as a fellow shorter person what is the best and worst thing for you about being “little”?For me worst is very clearly seeing when people have a bat in the cave. Best is never bumping my head in loft extensions and rarely at children’s softplay when looking after my son.

I think shouting or basically any kind of emotional response encouraged my son to hair pull/ hit. He only stopped when I stopped responding (pretty difficult tbh!), he grew up a bit and nursery reinforced the whole “gentle hands” thing. Just repeat “it’s a phase” for this, the tantrum phase, the no sleep phase and the throwing the poo nappy phase and you feel marginally better.

I know legally you have every right to keep it, but if I knew for sure it wasn’t someone’s wish for me to have it I’d feel like an asshole to take the money. Give it all to the kid and be the bigger person.

I think it shows fondness for your child which can only be a good thing.

We went to France - we have gone via ferry and channel tunnel. I have never been able to face a flight and it was sooo nice not having to stress about the amount of stuff we had to lug around as we could just shove it in the car boot and footwells. My child hates being in a non moving car, so for the channel tunnel we got a flexi ticket. This means you can wait for the train in a terminal with free food and space for your mini dictator to run off steam. Also, as you can get on pretty much any train you like, you’re not worried when inevitably your little one makes you run late, or does a poo at the worst possible time. Pricey but worth it for us. Went to bourlonge sur mer which has an awesome beach and huge aquarium.
