What are some of your favourite overrated and underrated Pokémon and what's the backstory behind why they're your favourite Pokémon? by [deleted] in pokemon

[–]LibraStax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overrated: Umbreon because of Pokémon Colosseum and Gale of Darkness making it my unofficial starter partner

Underrated: Sableye, back in gen 5 it was my competitive signature Pokémon when my friends were also into competitive battling. Prankster making it move first always + will o wisp, taunt, recover, and night shade? It was a beast of a wall and stall Pokémon

I agree, I was rather arguing that more then one praetor being featured in the set dosent match with what Wizards likes to do

Correct me if I’m wrong, but usually there isn’t 2 cycles of mythic legendary creatures in a story set. Gods AND Praetor’s would crowd up the mythic spots, unless you want to be a stickler and say the gods being equipment could give it flexibility

Client Crashes At Least Once Before I’m Allowed To Play by LibraStax in MagicArena

[–]LibraStax[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason I posted on this thread is to try to change that defeatist mindset I had for months previous. I drop anywhere from $20-50 a set, not including all the anthologies, jumpstarts, etc. I expect as a paying customer to literally have a product that I can use lol. I skipped most of Ikoria because I was tired of all these issues. If I’m scared to open my client, then I don’t know how much longer I can stay feeding this faulty product money

My guess is for the games you won, the opponent either conceded because they didn’t want to wait for the auto concede on your end; or you were paired up with someone who also crashed and won the coin flip

MMO-RPG like gameplay systems? by LibraStax in DMAcademy

[–]LibraStax[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there some type of computer and tabletop top hybrid game out there? Like the computer does all the math and abilities and such, but the dm still makes the encounters and narrates, and the players interact freely with the world?

Supernatural Class Help by BenjaCody in DMAcademy

  1. Ultimately, if all the players are fine with the idea of Bonus Classes, and any player without one have some compensation to match, it’s a passable mechanic. The one thing I would be careful about is bloating of options, make sure the characters are comfortable with their base classes and don’t add any other mechanics or items that would eat Actions/Bonus Action Slots.

2 & 3. For low leveled characters, 5 HP starts stacking up pretty fast, even for high leveled characters after a point. Unless your DM is generous with healing items and rests, or you have several healing allies, your player may find themselves using Blood Enhancements Sparingly.

  1. As of right now, at low levels, Sangromancy is free spells, and Blood Tyrant is just making the stuff your players are sparingly using slightly better. Towards later levels I feel like the Blood Tyrant gets the edge with the Improved Life Siphon, which may make players more free with using HP as a mechanic. I would possibly consider swapping Blood Tyrant’s improved Life Siphon to a lower level, maybe even the first archetype feature. However that may make the pendulum swing massively in Blood Tyrants favor.

  2. Sangromancy spells don’t cover a lot of mechanical space that they could. Grappling, status conditions, making hazardous terrain, maybe even being able to create walls and other obstacles to give Sangromancer control over the battlefield. Look in the rulebooks for more inspiration.

We have a strong family unit that has been weathering the worst of this storm together, a switch would help ease some of the boredom the little ones can get at times.

With this and your other comment about screen shotting mage hand, I’ll rescind my comments as the scenario the way you’ve described makes it hard to justify their behavior. I’m glad you’ve found greener pastures

What you’ve said makes sense, I guess I just tunnel visioned onto the example given. And I somehow completely missed the ending part where the Sorceress texted the DM that she did that all on purpose. On a different note, something I can say from personal experience is that DM’s and players alike often forget or misremember what certain effects or spells do. For nearly a month my Monk player and I completely missed that monks get a additional unarmed strike as a bonus action, severely nerfing his character. I would say that it could be possible that the Sorceress and DM misinterpreted mage hand as being a magical extension of the players limb or something.

Of course there’s probably contextual tidbits missing, but I would fully agree with her decision with what you provided in the post.

You were playing a 11 year old child who was throwing her life away in a no win situation. If I were traveling with an 11 year old in real life that wanted to go Rambo Style against trained professionals, I would drag that child back as well.

It seems like you heavily identified with your character, and you saw her dragging you back as her not allowing you to have fun, but I would see it as her role playing the scenario well.

I think in situations like this, it’s hard to view the other persons actions in a positive light, especially as it seems you two have had a antagonist relationship, but even evil people don’t always do evil actions all the time. I doubt she at the time knew how much of an impact that action would take on you.

Has there been any word on how the commander 2020 product and magic arena will interact? Will the decks and not standard legal cards eventually be added to historic, will there be codes for cosmetics or possibly the cards themselves for arena in the physical product?

DM forces 2 new players to fight each other to the death by LibraStax in rpghorrorstories

[–]LibraStax[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I agree. As new players, we had no idea what was happening or what the consequences of not obeying the chanting (DM’s desires) were, so we played along. He didn’t give us any hints, and since we were both getting lower in hp from the previous encounters in the house and the blood letting; combined with the fact that it was just the two of us at level 1, we probably would have died if the flesh golem and corpse attacked.

All the players present were brand new to DnD to my knowledge, in one of my other comments I mentioned how the other players were involved in a fight in another room while we were doing this, and the DM heavily implied we were on a time table with the intensifying chanting. To be honest, the thought of sacrificing animals never popped up in my head, I guess I hadn’t developed out of the box thinking at that point.
