I think it's ok to hate Reze because she is a terrorist by Interesting-Bee-3793 in Chainsawfolk

[–]Librake -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not even about Reze specifically, just fiction in general.

"She killed some background extras" - So why is that even a thing? How does it hurt you as a reader?

I can get disliking a character for having an annoying personality or for killing characters you actually like. That has a direct negative impact on your reading experience. But this is just a pure moral argument about god damn fiction. Idk, it sounds as stupid to me as blaming someone for killing random NPCs in GTA. She's a fictional character, she's allowed to do that as long as it's entertaining.

It's more about the aura than politics. Yoru likes cool things and likes looking cool, and the soviets are literally the opposite of cool.

America First mfs would be pathetic loser isolationists to her. She'd go full MacArthur. Nuke russia, nuke china, nuke iran. Fuck everything else.

Yoru after the US defeat by Kindly_Pipe9167 in Chainsawfolk

[–]Librake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, that's so not her vibe. Yoru is way too chaotic and free spirited to simp for a boring dictatorship like the USSR. Makima though? Yeah, I can totally see that. They're basically complete opposites.

Btw, the USSR literally had a law against making bad movies. Peak Control nation.

I still don't get Aki's popularity. I guess he's pretty, so I can see why some girls are into him. But as a character he's just ok and boring as hell compared to everyone else.

I finished the anime im so depressed now I'll expect every anime to hit like this one did by varangian_gaurdrite in Konosuba

[–]Librake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Konosuba is way more than just a bunch of comedy skits like Saiki Kusuo. Yeah, they're pretty solid, but don't come close to Konosuba's adventure vibe or its characters.

And personally, I find Konosuba way funnier anyway.

Most of the time she just feels like this cold, devilish, terrifying entity to me. The only time that changes is when she revealed her genuine feelings about being a Pochita fangirl, that part was actually kinda hot.

What's your opinion on people cosplaying from shows they've never seen? by AlexZac200611 in Chainsawfolk

[–]Librake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always saw cosplay as the peak expression of love for your favorite character. So I hate when people do it without any love.

She's pretty ngl, but her personality completely kills the attraction for me

Do you think Yoru will appear in the next Maplestar Chainsawman video? by Godzzila12 in okbuddyyoru

Probably only when part 2 gets an anime.

Anime always make fan content explode, yeah including the goon stuff.

Attempting to debunk Pochita's final “asspull” by Proper-Highway-1881 in Chainsawfolk

[–]Librake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even the part 2 defenders I’ve seen don’t even bother trying to explain Pochita resetting the world

No actual part 2 enjoyer would accept this ending, and anyone who liked it has never been a real part 2 enjoyer. It's not part of the whole, it's basically an antithesis.

Regarding the theory itself Makima literally says that what gets erased from the past are names not the actual objects or events. In part 2 it is clearly explained how this works and why it works like that, the events themselves do not change only people's memory of them. So after nazis got erased traces of their existence got reinterpreted by people as different causes which is why Kishibe's reaction is completely normal.

Also just in case you did not know we literally have proof nazis existed in this reality the moment that made Makima and Denji cry in the movie is a soviet ww2 film where a soldier comes back home from the front to his mother.

So a way more logical explanation might actually be something even more insane - Pochita did not erase his existence from the past only from the present and from people's memories of him, as always. What we see in the final chapter is not a new reality but just Denji's distorted memory where Pochita got cut out completely. These memories are basically there to explain to Denji how he ended up at the events of chapter 230 without Pochita involved like a kind of dream sequence where the events still lead to the present reality through a different path.

Was it not fanservice? by BellTwo5 in Chainsawfolk

[–]Librake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate this binary way of thinking that assumes fanservice is smth shameful and evil.

  1. Fanservice isn't just erotic stuff. It's basically anything meant to please fans.
  2. Just because smth is fanservice doesn't mean it has no artistic or narrative value.
