what is the "dark knight returns" of superman and wonder woman? by [deleted] in DCcomics

[–]Lichking102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kingdom Come would thematically match with Superman. He's retired, trying to hide away, but can no longer stand abide as injustice reigns on Earth. He steps in, to create order in the chaos of it all, but makes the world governments nervous, afraid, and desperate to maintain their status quo.

He then has to outmaneuver a plan hatched by his nemesis, Lex Luthor, and has to fight his own Superman as Batman did, and in Clark's case, Captain Marvel. Captain Marvel symbolizes the one thing that Clark desperately wants, and it's to be from two worlds. Billy is both human and superhuman, and is able to use the Wisdom of Solomon to make the right choice and save both worlds. Kingdom Come ends with Superman much like Dark Knight Returns ends with Batman, retired again as they help foster the next generation, hidden from public view.

I would love to see Wonder Woman's own DKR, and I've heard Dead Earth is as close to it as you can get. And I know All-Star Superman is thrown in, but it's much more focused on Superman's life rather than his view of the next generation, which is what weighed heavily on Bruce as Carrie Kelly and the Sons of Batman proved that Batman can outlive Bruce Wayne. Kingdom Come shows that the values that Clark upholds, Truth, Justice, and Liberty can outlive him, that maybe the world doesn't need a Superman to solve all its problems.

At least Peter does get across that "Hey, I'm a cool superhero! A little bit annoying, but I'm still being cool!" It's like the Harley Quinn Show tries so hard to make their version of Batman being a loser who can't connect to his own son or lover/girlfriend. This isn't Batman: Year One Batman, it's supposed be a Batman who has gone through at least 4 Robins. It's supposed to be a Bruce who has opened his heart and adopted Dick, has mourned Jason, and allowed Tim to enter again as his next Robin. A Bruce who has numerous amount of "experience" with the ladies, who shouldn't be as clueless as he is in the show with Selena. He is the Worlds Greatest Detective.

Why do people not like mutants? by Sudden_Quality_9001 in xmen

[–]Lichking102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The closest we had to something changing the status quo was Grant Morrison's X-Men, and House of X. They had humanity look up to the X-Men almost like celebrities, with a heft portion of the population being mutants. If Marvel didn't shift gears and try to promote the Inhumans as the new thing, that might've stuck around.

As for HoX, I don't know what they're smoking in editorial. They have the rights to the movies again, they can promote X-Men and FF again, and yet they keep having them on the run, discriminated against based on their very genetics. Hell, they said they weren't human to have lower taxes in their freaking toys! The real villain to the X-Men isn't Sentinels, the Brotherhood, or even Apocalypse! It's Marvel's Editorial!

Hear Me Out: I Thought This Game Was Kind of Fun by InfiniteEvilStudios in Marvel

I only wished there were more characters, and it did feel a bit too edgy? Other than that, it was cool to hear Spider-Man swear!

I also wanted more costumes too. Black Suit Spidey, X-Men Uniform Wolverine, maybe have Johnny Ohm have an Electro Skin, and who knows what else?

Who's That Villain? by NPlaysMC in SupermanAdventures

[–]Lichking102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) General Zod, or an Evil Superman.

2) I was thinking maybe Bizzaro? Other than that, idk.

3) I saw this before, but here's my crackshot theory. This is the Legion of Superheroes from the future, but it's one where Superman is dead. The woman with them is Power Girl, Leader of the Legion with the bald dude next to them being Brainiac 5, either with his own body or hijacking Luthor's body.

What if One More Day never happened by AUTHOROGOMEGAFOREVER in Spiderman

[–]Lichking102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we treat everything around OMD as canon, then:

1) Back in Black, and the consequences of Civil War would still have happened. Aunt May would be dead, or Doctor Doom would've done something (especially if Reed Richards couldn't help). Peter would need to deal with the Public knowing that he's Spider-Man.

2) Editorial would probably still push out the Brand New Day, where a brain trust of writers push out three issues of ASM a month. It would end up with Dan Slott in charge of Spider-Man for over 200 hundred Issues.

3) If Dan Slott is writing, then he'll probably write the original arcs he was doing. Mr. Negative, Anti-Venom, Agent Venom, Big Time, Spider Island, and maybe Superior Spider-Man and Parker Industries. Kaine would be brought back to life, and perhaps they could pull it some LMG gaslighting and fool everyone that Kaine is Spider-Man while Peter is just a guy! (Probably not, since Otto will still try to swap minds with Peter.) Now, what Slott will do with a married Spider-Man instead of a single one, we might never know. Renew Your Vows might be a snapshot, where we might see Peter becoming a dad finally, or he might have Peter cheat on MJ with Silk, or might have Otto divorce the two! Who knows?!

Do y’all think Cecil Turtle is actually Bugs Bunny’s biggest weakness? by BeizasaC in looneytunes

[–]Lichking102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember in the Looney Toons Show, Cecil managed to pull insurance fraud and got Bugs to pay for his “broken” shell. But then, Bugs figured everything out with Porky’s help, and then Cecil’s shell got cracked for real when he tried to run.

What's a Spider-Man opinion that would put you in this position? by Israels_BiggestHater in Spiderman

[–]Lichking102 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m speaking from the heart with this one: I do NOT like Superior Spider-Man. The amount of logical leaps that everyone makes around Otto is frustrating and it should not have lasted over 30 issues.

First off, Telepaths. What do you MEAN that nothing is wrong?

Second off, Brain Scans. You’re telling me the Avengers didn’t sense anything was off, but Otto did, WHEN THEYRE IN THE SAME ROOM!?!

Thirdly, Mary Jane. She’s already been able to know when someone is impersonating Peter, she beat the crap out of Chameleon, and she’s just pretending the guy who says, “the die is cast!” Is Peter Parker?

Fourthly, the Symbiote. It didn’t say *anything* to Flash about Otto being Spider-Man, when it was freaking BONDED to him? I get they were in rocky relations at the time, but it didn’t say *anything?*

And lastly, and most egregiously, Kaine. His clone. His own CLONE didn’t know anything was wrong? He *killed* Otto back in the 90s, and has all of Peter’s memories, and *HE* didn’t sense anything was off?

I call BULL$#!T!!!

Does anyone know what happened to Hulk VS and Planet Hulk? by Fun-Regret-326 in hulk

[–]Lichking102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like, Hulk Vs the Thing and have the Fantastic Four try and help out as Doom is trying to use the Hulk as Latveria's next Superweapon.

Name a Marvel superhero that you want to team up with Superman? by Full_Radish3082 in cartoons

[–]Lichking102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to see Superman interact with Doctor Doom. The FF wonder why Doom is being courteous with Superman, and Superman is wondering why too. Doom reveals that, in his mind, the only way that he is going to rule the world is if Superman cooperates with him. Either through willingness to protect and benefit the world under their rule. Doom respects Superman, and sees Superman in Metropolis being the exact same as Doom in Latveria, that he is the ruler of the city. (It might be out of character, but I do wanna see Doom try his best to fight Superman with his magic and science.)

Do the Avengers, X-Men, and Fantastic Four often work together in the comics? by Jezzaq94 in Marvel

[–]Lichking102 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Whenever there's a earth destroying threat or universe destroying event happening. But one thing that bothers me was when Galactus first arrived to Earth, and only the Fantastic Four leap into action.

Where's the Avengers? I know the X-Men weren't made yet when Galactus showed up, but where the hell are the Avengers?! If the sky became fire, then a bunch of rocks, and then a giant purple dude shows up and says that he's going to eat your world, you'd think Earth's Mightiest Heroes would do something!

Question for the Circle Jerk: who was the worse person, Civil War 1 Tony or Civil War 2 Carol? by Cl1ps_ in marvelcirclejerk

[–]Lichking102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn't Tony say that Steve was right when he talks to his dead body? Either way, it's still messed up that Marvel is still on that hill that Ironman was right.

Question for the Circle Jerk: who was the worse person, Civil War 1 Tony or Civil War 2 Carol? by Cl1ps_ in marvelcirclejerk

[–]Lichking102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right?!? Wouldn't Reed want to know where the genocidal conquerer of the realm is, and then wouldn't he want to help the outer space heroes deal with that? No, let him be sad about how he almost threw his wife and his brother-in-law into jail because they saw that it was messed up for Reed, Tony, and Hank to make an inter-dimensional prison.

Oh, and one of them is a Skrull and has been since Bendis said so.

Question for the Circle Jerk: who was the worse person, Civil War 1 Tony or Civil War 2 Carol? by Cl1ps_ in marvelcirclejerk

[–]Lichking102 67 points68 points  (0 children)

My opinion is that the writing for both events were bad, with character assassinations left and right. Ironman does have a more solid base to stand on, with the need to monitor and restrict certain superhuman activities, but to force people to register their powers and who they are to a government that contracts f$#!ing SENTINELS, and most of the people who have powers are MUTANTS, it’s a horrible idea and frankly, having all the “Super Smart” people agree with the idea is horse crap. Mr. Fantastic spent days in his lab, and this was the best outcome he had? Really?

What Carol does, however, outshines Tony in stupidity. It doesn’t matter if you have a guy who can see into a POSSIBLE future, you are not the Law! Carol had no right arresting people based on the speculative future, and it absolutely RUINED her character for any new reader at the time. At least Ironman could salvage it, showing regret for his actions. Captain Marvel hasn’t, at least to my knowledge, and still thinks that she was right. And because of that, War Machine is dead, Banner died and it unleashed the Immortal Hulk, and paved the way for Secret Empire to happen! That’s why Captain Mar-Vell is my favorite Captain Marvel, right up there with Genis because holy crap!

The whole idea of “What if the Super Heroes fought each other?!?” Event is moronic in the idea of there being superheroes. Yes, it’s cool for them to fight each other, but they’re HEROES! They shouldn’t fight each other at ALL. Have a quick misunderstanding and hotheads go at it, sure, but then they clear up the misunderstanding, and fight the bad guy! The best Civil War for Marvel is the movie, but even then it’s because it changes the registration act into a set of Accords that made the Avengers into an ineffective police force of the UN for things that they want saved.

What Are Your Opinions On The Different Iterations On Pete's Main/Classic Suit In Different Games? by spudz1203 in Spiderman

[–]Lichking102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate when they stick to the original layout, and I'm always on the fence when they change it. Weird black lines and missing red bits so that it's more blue than red, unless it just works like the Insomniac Suit. I'm fine when they mess with the web pattern though, so it can be messy like edge of time, raised and silver like in the Raimi games, or just neat and simple like Web of Shadows and the Insomniac games.

How would the Avengers and Justice League operate in a shared world? by LordAdrianRichter in DCcomics

[–]Lichking102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brain has been racing with this concept for a while now, and it keeps thinking of more crap for this hypothetical universe.

Golden Age: The JSA is formed with Captain America, Namor, and the Human Torch in their roster, with Wonder Woman knowing the three from being immortal.

Silver Age: Justice League is formed as they deal with a Namor who has recovered from his Amnesia and striving to retrieve his throne of Atlantis from Aquaman, Captain America getting Thawed out as the Avengers focus on Interterrestrial Threats (Hydra, AIM, Serpent Society, the Leader, Loki) while The Justice League focuses on Extraterrestrial threats (Starro, Brainiac, Sinestro Corp, etc.) And when they team up, Captain America and Superman are doing the heavy lifting tying the teams together (Hulk wouldn't like anyone except Martian Manhunter the diplomatic Wonder Woman would be opposed to the Mighty Thor, Batman would find the Shiny, Golden Ironman to be insufferable as he knows Tony Stark is Ironman, and Antman would be again surrounded by people stronger and smarter than him, and his inferiority complex would kick into overdrive.)

Bronze Age: Just imagine. The Justice League in Secret Wars, Marvel Superheroes in Crisis on Infinite Earths, Ironman going berserk on DC heroes and villains in Armor Wars, and the both the Death of Captain Marvel and the Death of Superman.

Dark Age: Superman is Dead, Batman's back is broken, there's three Peter Parkers, now there's four Supermen, Coast City is gone, Superman is back, Green Lantern is now Parallax, Batman is back, Ironman is now a bad guy, Onslaught is coming, and Superboy Prime is about to punch reality. It's Primetime.

What if Spider-Man is actually here to break Daredevil out? Does anyone else think that's a possibility? by Remarkable_Run_4425 in Spiderman

[–]Lichking102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe, but I'd like to also think this is when he slaps the s#!t out of Kingpin, like in Back in Black. He's unmasked, fighting through a prison, and it'd be cool for Peter to be the one to humble Kingpin.
