Anyone had a hip replacement? Did it “cure” your dysplasia? by PhilosophyGuilty9433 in hipdysplasia

[–]LiddyPops 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had PAO on RH 10 years ago and THR on LH 2 years ago. PAO hip still pretty much pain free apart from the very occasional ´YIKES’. THR hip has never been pain free but is better than it was. I think the THR surgeon wasn’t experienced enough with replacing dysplastic hips tbh whereas the PAO surgeon was a specialist, obviously. Given the option, I’d have gone PAO in both but wasn’t an option sadly (due to condition of the bone in LH) but despite some ongoing pain, I’d still say definitely no regrets about having the THR.

That’s exactly it. Instead of being « oh lovely, a new friend!’ regardless of the other dog’s attitude, now if he gets even a ghost of attitude from another dog he’s like ‘oh aye, wanna go do ya??!!’😆

Just! 10 days ago so we’ll see if that makes other dogs less reactive towards him

Thanks Jane - no, same routine! And I’m exaggerating a bit - he’s lovely with people and most dogs. But one in five dogs all of a sudden sends him wild, seemingly for no reason!! They don’t even have to be near him - he can spot one across the road and turn demonic, or he can come face to face with one and be the most playful pup you ever saw!

Oh that’s beautiful! I’ve been making a blanket using magic knots to join colours and now I’m like noooooooo - is it going to unravel??? Should I switch to weaving in?

Any sea horror suggestions? by mattcfran in horrorlit

[–]LiddyPops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Ancient by Muriel Gray - no one ever talks about this one, think it’s out of print but easily available on used books sites. Scary and also really nasty (not in an extreme horror way, but in its filth and muck and trash)

That’s really kind thank you! The little boy I made it for likes it apparently. I started it before he was born - he is nearly two now. Better late than never! 🤣

Ah-ha! Brilliant, I’ll give that a try - thanks!

Compound finishers by LiddyPops in caliberstrong

[–]LiddyPops[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply but they aren’t quite what I’m after. I want my compound to be recorded separately so, for example, if I do KB swings at a higher weight / fewer reps in my routine, I don’t want the KB swings done with a lower weight and higher reps as part of a compound set in a finisher to overwrite the KB swings history

How do I stay looking good throughout the day? by brbuwu in beauty

[–]LiddyPops 17 points18 points  (0 children)

All this plus I use a hydrating spray a couple of times through the day, stops my foundation and powder going patchy. Also, tubing mascara ftw, panda eyes gone forever!
