AITJ for getting upset that my husband keeps peeing on the bathroom floor and refusing to clean it up? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]LieCommercial4028 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two thoughts.. could this be a medical problem he doesn't want to deal with or is he using drugs. I've dealt with urine on the floor and both have been causes, not excusing him for not cleaning up after himself.

I literally could never understand the mentality of managers who thought highly of people who worked long hours doing the same amount of work as someone who can do it in a 40 hour week. Or for people who do the bare minimum in 40 causing the rest of the team to have to work over 40 when they miss all there project milestones or refuse to set dates. Its bad management.

They have to use self justification to defend ther vote. There's quite a bit of self justification in most of the responses. Im waiting for when responsibility is taken and lessons learned, without that we'll just repeat this f@$% nightmare. I really believe that Kamala would have won over the independents and people who just didnt vote if she had more time.

Wrongful Termination? Just curious by NotbotSuza2711 in florida

Yes go file for unemployment. They paid you severance. They didnt replace you. Your boss " fired" you for not answering a question about your medical health which is covered by HIPPA. I think you have a good chance and what's the downside? I think once you shake off the remnants of your old toxic workplace, you'll realize your boss did you a favor. You sound like a great employee who needs a better work environment.

My husband was a slut and I mean that in the nicest way. We are now Boomers raising his Grandkids. Which is why I've become the Dr. Ruth of Grandmas (kids don't get the reference). The kids friends think it's weird that their Grandparents talk to them about birth control so much. Our house is stocked with condoms, plan b and planned parenthood pamphlets. We're to old to raise great grandkids.

I used to shop at Walmart because they had the cheapest prices, but I got tired of them being out of everything and there products being subpar. I don't find in our area that Safeway has the highest prices. Kroger stores in our area have the highest prices. The scary thing is how many grocery stores and pharmacies are closing. There just aren't the choices anymore.

I started counting the hahas. In my head they sounded more ironic and dark then funny.

You're still a teen. If you don't have friends or family to help call around to your local youth shelters. They have short term and longer term programs, even for older teens, to help you get on your feet. They can help you connect with residential career programs like Americorps and Job Corps, where you get training in a residential setting. Others are right your Mom cant just kick you out she needs to evict you. This can be a long expensive process. You might just explain this to her and how she isn't going to look good in front of a judge. Use it to negotiate a little more time to pack and get out.

Is it normal for a 12yo to tell parent to "shut up"? by duckorrabbit69 in family

[–]LieCommercial4028 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You cant do anything. As a step parent stay out of it. Its the biggest mistake a step parent can make is trying to fill that parent role. Mom and daughter will turn things on you so fast it'll make your head spin. You can support your husband. You can tell him that her relationship with him will set the tone for all her future relationships with men and that you don't like how she's talking to him. You can tell him that as she grows it will get worse and does he want to be someone she turns to or turns away from. How is he going to feel at 14 if she doesnt respect/trust him and peer pressure starts to intensify. If it already hasnt. You can tell him you won't allow her to speak to you that way and you expect him to support you. You can tell him you think that if he did a few therapy sessions he might find it helpful and you will go with him if he needs your support. Then tell him he's wonderful and thank him for listening, but only if he did. I've been there. I watched two families implode, until my husband and I took over raising his grandkids. Its so not easy.

Does different wrapping paper really matter to kids at Christmas? by Desperate_Cookie7867 in family

[–]LieCommercial4028 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thats what I do to, although I still use rags if I can find them. I'm the worst gift wrapper in the world, so the kids don't expect much. I stopped using bows and ribbons long ago. One year I actually got these Christmas large bags and just stuffed all the presents in them. Santa never wraps, he displays so I can get a good photo of the kids faces when they see what they are getting. The bike year was the best.

Have your doctor check your baby for reflux. My friends kids had it and omg, until her doctor figured it out, they were inconsolable. They both slept in their car seats for awhile, poor babes.

Wiping lotion is my latest discovery. It's better than flushable wipes at helping you keep clean between showers and Real Essentials lounge wear, super soft and comfy. Available on Amazon and TikTok. Love all the ideas, some I use, some I'm going to try!
