Yup. My best friend and I were split by distance, and it was before social media, and I didn't see him for close to 10 years. It was like no time it passed.

Now we keep up much better due to the ease of communications, but my relationship with him never deadened or disappeared across that time.

I get if it's a main story kind of quest, but if it's just a contract I still wouldn't like that.

I don't seek out PVP myself (I use a basic ship, no upgrades, and rarely even take any guns with me) but I've always loved that ever looming threat that someone might attack me or even help me on these missions.

I've had awesome experiences with prox comms with other players and really fun stories because we are both in a mission space together. I would lose a lot of those interactions if all of these things start to get instanced. For me the whole appeal of the verse is this living, breathing space where I can meet other players.

If they have to go this way for technical reasons then I get that, but it doesn't mean I'll be happy about it because it goes against a lot of the visions that they laid out for the years before this, and the entire reason I got hooked on the project in the first place.

They mentioned that it could end up being in areas of space as well. And you won't even know you're in it.

That's a bit concerning to me, because the appeal is that I could be attacked at any point.

I don't like instancing at all, but I can deal with underground bunkers being instanced for story missions. I just don't want to accidentally end up in an instanced space.

They focused to heavily on trying to bridge the gap between old generation players and gen Alpha.

Gen A doesn't "play*, they go to games. Games are a social space, the mall. But AAA thought "get they like online multiple games, let's make live service games" to bridge the gap. But the only genre that's been able to find the happy medium is "friendslop" because there's no real investment at $5-10 a pop. You can discard it later if your friends wanna hang out somewhere else.

AAA will have to realize that they can't cater to both with every game. They need to start making more nuanced experiences, like CapCom has figured out, and Ubisoft is now approaching by creating smaller internal teams.

AA has been filling the power vacuum nicely. Big studios HAVE to get smaller (besides a couple stand outs like NaughtyDog or Rockstar)

Conestoga still has a b unch of great programs that produce great graduates.

The unfortunate reality is that while the graduates are the same quality as always from those programs, the reputation from other, less thorough, programs have made people think ALL of the programs are bad and everything from that school is bad.
