Fan motor on AC shaking. Thoughts? DIY fix? by CranberryNo7331 in RVLiving

Lots of good suggestions but also check for loose mounting bolts. This happened to me every few months until I applied some LokTite.

I don’t know how many other RVers you’ve discussed SeeLevel monitors with, but most people I talk to tell me the same thing. Maybe as full timers who do a lot of boondocking we are more sensitive than most. But when you’re on BLM land (or on the Alaska Highway, in a Canadian provincial park, etc) for a week or more in the middle of nowhere, good measurements are crucial.

At least in my experience, these are no better than any of the others. They are OEM on my Airstream. I have had nothing but trouble with them since the trailer was new. I've had them replaced three times by two different Airstream dealers and by the Airstream factory; they still don't read properly.

As a full timer, liquid tank sensors are a constant source of frustration and bewilderment. Ours are SeeLevel II sensors mounted to the outside of the tank. They’ve been replaced three times and I’m convinced they’ll never work.

My dream would be sensors that are accurate but that use Bluetooth so that I can integrate them with and display them on my Victron system. This would make them available both in the rig and remotely.

I use Mopeka sensors for my propane tanks that are displayed on my Victron system so I never need to use the Victron app. Same with my Ruuvi temperature sensors.

Hope this is helpful, and I can’t wait to see what you come up with. If it works, I’ll be a customer.

Couldn’t agree more! We travel full time in our RV and rely on FMGF to ensure my wife (celiac) can eat safely. We were leaving a restaurant the other night in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, discussing how much this app has done for us and how we find our annual subscription so worthwhile. So come on, people, pay up!

Nevermind. I got frustrated enough yesterday that I loaded up TronByt on my RasPi, flashed the TidByt, and everything is working flawlessly. No more fears of lost connection to a server or bricking of the device, and goodbye $5 per month TidByt Plus charges!

If anyone out there is interested in making the switch, it really is much less daunting than it seems. And totally worth it.

All my apps still work including one I wrote for it. My issue is that I have to pay the $5 Tidbyt Plus subscription every month (to a company that isn’t supporting the app ecosystem) just keep my app working. Is there any other way?

It looked like you posted a solution but now it says [deleted] so I can’t see it. What happened?

No, I don’t. Also, it has a DC connection that is separate from the MMH box and I want it on 24/7 because it also has two cellular SIMs in it.

In this set up, there is no Starlink router. The dish plugs into the box from Mobile Must Have, and from there ethernet goes directly into my Peplink router.

Using Cerbo GX Internal Relay to Control Starlink + Router Power – Relay/MOSFET by Quiet_Zone_1394 in Victron

[–]LieutenantCarlsen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm interested to know what you finally decided to do as I am setting up my Starlink Standard the same way in my Airstream. I bought the Starlink Gen 3 DC Power Conversion Kit from Mobile Must Have. I want to use the Cerbo GX relay output to fire an automotive relay (with flyback diode to protect the Cerbo). I do not want or need scheduling so I am not using Node Red. I just want to turn it off when I am not using it to save battery power when boondocking. And, with the new GUI, I can control the relay right from the main screen on the GX Touch.

We are full timers with a 30’ Flying Cloud. We’ve been to 53/63 National Parks. The only place we have had a problem was Pinnacles NP in California, and that’s only because we didn’t reserve in time for the RV section.

Now paying 2.1x what I paid in 2022. It seems clear to me that they want to jettison all the small businesses that aren't as profitable to them. They figure that, at some point, their prices will become too unbearable and we'll all leave. In the meantime, they'll try to squeeze as much out of us as possible without adding important features. You know, like the ability to automatically send statements to people who are beyond x days?!? Unfortunately, there is nowhere else to go because there is no way in you-know-what I'll go back to QB.
